Hey there, hi there, ho there! I’m Passholder Diva. I grew up in South Florida and I’ve been going to Disney World since I was kid. We camped at Fort Wilderness many times over the years, and it is still dear to my heart. It’s such a special place to be and I still love to stand on the beach and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. We’re a military family and have been fortunate enough to be stationed in Florida twice, and that’s given me the opportunity to be an annual passholder several times. We also were stationed overseas, and I was a Disneyland Paris passholder as well. We hope to get a chance to visit every Disney park around the world. We went to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure last summer, and plan to visit the Asian parks in 2021 when my daughter graduates from high school.
My favorite attractions at the Magic Kingdom are the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. I also love Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom. But my favorite park has always been (and probably will always be!) Epcot. We love going to all the festivals there, and I’ve written about them several times. Our favorite festival is the Festival of the Arts. Not just because we love the arts, and love eating artistically presented foods, but because the weather is cooler and the crowds are lower.
We also love to attend the Dapper Day events at the parks. We like to people watch: it is so fun to see everybody looking “neat and pretty.”
As much as I love the parks, though, I may (lowers voice to a whisper) love Disney Cruise Line even more! We’ve sailed with Disney all over the world: from the Caribbean and Bahamas cruises to Alaska, New York, and four European itineraries. In 2016 I was fortunate enough to sail on a cruise to Norway, Iceland, and Scotland. It was amazing! We’ve been on 11 cruises so far and can’t wait to go on more.
I’m a lover of villains and have been since I was a kid. Maleficent and Chernabog are my sentimental favorites, but I really think the most “realistic” Disney villain has to be Frodo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. What a creep!
My favorite live action (well, mostly live action!) Disney movie is Mary Poppins. It’s really difficult to narrow down my favorite animated movie, but Tangled is definitely up there. My family and I also love to watch the Star Wars movies and the Marvel films.
A financial counselor by trade, I am always looking for ways to save for Disney or to save *at* Disney. Being frugal is near and dear to my heart, so some of my favorite articles have to do with saving.
My tip is this: If at all possible, stay at a Disney resort. It’s more magical and more immersive. The little bit of money you save by staying off property will be eaten up by transportation and parking costs. And don’t forget that time is money, so all the time you spend getting from your hotel back and forth to the parks is less time for you to spend in the parks.
I love writing for this blog because my fellow writers are awesome people and they (unlike my family) truly understand my Disney obsession!
