M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e! The main man himself! The worlds most popular rodent is certainly one of the most sought out characters at Walt Disney World. If you are someone who loves Mickey as much as my family, you are in luck! Despite being so popular, Mickey is available to see and meet in several places across Disney World property, so depending on your plans while you visit, you may have several chances to see him! Throughout the parks and on property there are many places you can go to find Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World.
Meet and Greets: Mickey is available in several places for meet and greets. Each park has a specific place to see Mickey.
Magic Kingdom: You can meet Mickey in the front of Magic Kingdom at the Town Square Theater. This building is directly to the right as you pass underneath the railroad tracks. Mickeys outfit here has varied over the years but he is typically dressed up in a vest and bow tie!
EPCOT: Recently Mickey moved into a new home at EPCOT, near the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival. You can find Mickey meeting directly inside the building and to the right. At this location Mickey meets in his red pants and black suit jacket, complete with yellow bow tie! If you are a Disney Visa cardholder, then you may be lucky enough to catch him meeting there, however, the characters at this location due rotate so it is never a guarantee.
Hollywood Studios: Meet Mickey (and Minnie) along Commissary Lane across from the Sci-Fi Dine in Restaurant. This area of the park is to the left as you are looking at the Chinese Theater, near Star Tours. If you choose to meet Mickey here, you will find him dressed as Sorcerer Mickey!
Animal Kingdom: Here you can find Mickey at the Adventurers Outpost. To locate this area, head to the right around the Tree of Life. You’l pass by “It’s Tough to be a Bug” and then Mickey and Minnie will be located on your right. Here Mickey are Minnie are both dressed in their safari gear!
*Note: Previously there have been Fast Passes available for several of these meet and greets but with new Disney protocol due to COVID-19 it is unclear as to whether there will be in the future. Also at the time I am writing this article, character experiences have been put on hold to hopefully resume at a later time. Check back with our monthly update articles to read more about Disney’s latest announcements.
Character Dining: There are several places across Disney property that offer character dining featuring Mickey and his friends! Some are located in the parks and others are located at Disney resorts.
Park Character Dining:
Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom: This is a buffet dining option available for all 3 meals. Here you will interact with Mickey, Donald and Goofy in safari attire.
Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios: This is also a buffet option for all 3 meals, however Mickey is usually only found here during Minnie’s Seasonal Dine Lunch & Dinner. If you are able to catch that, then you can meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy all dressed in seasonal attire.
Garden Grill at EPCOT: This is a family style dining option that is offered for all 3 meals. You will meet Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale all dressed as farmers!
Resort Character Dining:
Chef Mickey’s: Located in the Contemporary Resort. This option is buffet style, and you can meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all dressed as chefs!
‘Ohana: Located in the Polynesian Resort. This restaurant is a family style meal-service with a more limited menu. Character dining is only available during breakfast, where you will have the chance to meet Mickey, Stitch, Lilo and Pluto decked out in their floral print and leis.
Topolino’s Terrace: Located in the Riviera Resort. This newer option is more of a traditional sit-down restaurant. Again here, character dining is only available at breakfast. The characters you will interact with here are Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy. They are each dressed to correspond with a different art form (dance, art, etc.).
Ravello: Located in the Four Seasons Resort. This is a very limited option to schedule, being that it is only offered for breakfasts on Thursdays, Saturdays and select Tuesdays. It is a buffet style featuring Mickey, Goofy and Minnie.
*Note: There are seemingly big changes coming to how Disney is going to be handling dining reservations, starting with shortening the Advanced Dining Reservation window from 180 days out to 60 days out. Stay on top of all the changes by reviewing our monthly update articles.
Along with character meet and greets and dining you can also catch Mickey in several shows across property. You can catch Mickey in the castle show at Magic Kingdom and Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios! Be sure to pick up a times guide from either the concierge at your Disney resort or from one of the kiosks when you enter the park so you don’t miss out!
So there you have it! All the options and places that you can go to meet Mickey Mouse while visiting Walt Disney World. In the uncertain times of coronavirus much of this is subject to change. Hopefully Disney will give us more guidance soon so we can all enjoy these great options!
