Five years ago we took our first Christmas time trip to Disney World. I was so excited to see everything decorated and have my children experience one of the most magical times of the year at the most magical place on earth!
While escaping the crowded lines during one of our afternoons at the Magic Kingdom, we sat on Main Street to watch the parade. While waiting for the parade to begin, my husband went missing (not really missing, but he was tired of standing around waiting). I wasn’t too worried, he’s a big boy and he knew where to find us. Fifteen minutes later, he showed up and said he had just been looking in some of the shops located behind where we were sitting. That was it…nothing more was said.

Fast forward a week after we returned home, I find a package from Disney sitting on my front porch! I opened it and there were my first two Jim Shore Disney Christmas pieces! I had never paid any attention to this sort of thing while we were in the park shopping. My husband found them and had them shipped home to surprise me! Since then, find new ones each year to add to our collection.

Decorating at Christmas time is so much fun when we take each one out and find a special spot for them to spend their holiday season. This is Disney Brothers’ favorite part of decorating too. They all help me take the figures out of their boxes and line them up on the fireplace hearth. They are always the first decorations to go up and the last to come down.
Disney has so many other great holiday collectables, we thought we would share some of our favorites with you.
D’land Diva
This is our engagement ornament given to us by some of our closest friends back in 2003. Our favorite Disney ornament.
This is my favorite of all our Disney ornaments. We got it in our honeymoon from the Christmas Shoppe in the Magic Kingdom. There was a man there who was personalizing them, so he added January 1999 for us.

My mother actually started my Disney Ornament collection as she has one of her own. My entire tree is full of them and this year I purchased the huge Mickey lights.
