Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh….who doesn’t love Winnie the Pooh? Obviously everyone who comes to Disney World does because this ride always seems to have one of the longest wait times of just about any ride in the Magic Kingdom. I don’t blame them. This ride is a favorite of my 3 yr old’s (and mine too!) in the Magic Kingdom. This is also a ride you definitely want to head to first thing in the morning or get a Fast Pass for or else you will be waiting quite a while in line. If you do end up having to wait in line there is one perk, the interactive queue. It is great for the little ones! There are so many different areas they can play they won’t even realize they are stuck in line. Rabbit’s Garden is a great place for a game of hide and seek with gophers and there are also tunnels to crawl through. There is also a hunny wall where you can use your hand to draw with honey (don’t worry, it’s not real honey). You can knock at the door at Piglet’s house and hear him inside and you can also crawl through Eeyore’s leaning house. And just think, you get to do all of this before even getting to the ride!
After you get through the interactive queue and to the front of the line you will get to ride in one of Pooh’s Hunny Pots. These pots can seat 4 people and if you are in a wheelchair you will have to transfer from your wheelchair into the Hunny Pot. This ride is made for guests of all ages and any height and has a thrill level of slow. There are few areas inside that may be a little dark and a bit bumpy so be prepared to keep little ones close to an adult in case they get scared.
Once you are seated in your Hunny Pot you will begin your magical ride through the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. You will see the story come to life through different scenes from Pooh’s stories. The story starts with a blustery day in the hundred acre wood, then comes a bounce with Tigger and your hunny pot bounces up and down. From there you will head to Pooh’s dream where the Heffalumps and Wuzzles try to steal his honey. Then it’s off to a rainy place where Pooh’s friends, such as Kanga, Roo, and Rabbit, help save Piglet from the flood. Once Piglet is saved it’s off to a party for Pooh where everyone celebrates and Pooh finally gets his honey.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is one of the great rides in Fantasy Land and I highly recommend it to anyone who goes to Disney World. It truly is a ride that can be enjoyed by all ages. Once the ride is over you can head to the gift shop at the exit and find that special Winnie the Pooh item for you or your little one.
