As a fan of The Country Bear Jamboree, I was horrified to see that the attraction was going to be replaced by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

I know, I know, some of you groan whenever you hear about The Country Bear Jamboree because it seems SO old! For me, it was part of the old charm of the land formally known as Bear Country, and for those Disneyland guests who like to revisit the rides they experienced as kids (like myself), we all “sigh” just a little, with it’s replacement, the Winnie the Pooh ride.

That being said, this is probably the most frequented ride in my Disneyland trips over the past few years. Thanks to short lines and the characters’ popularity with my three year old son. I will confess: the ride has grown on me. I will never forget the way the area looked as The Country Bear Jamboree, but I do enjoy the updated attraction.

The outside of the ride is wonderfully themed with greenery and a small stream. The queue for the ride extends under the railroad pass which amuses my train loving son “Z”, to no end.

IMG_7124 Diva Tip: The lines are always fairly short for this ride. If you have other family members riding Splash Mountain or a child who wants to go on a ride, but has issues with the lines or is too short to ride, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is the perfect diversion.

Guests are loaded onto honeybee cars. Each honeybee seats a party of six. It is a tight squeeze to fit three people to a seat, and it really is better to have two per seat. Diva Tip: If you have little ones, try to sit in the first row. It offers the best unobstructed view. The honeybees take you into the world of Winnie the Pooh, beginning with a blustery day.

IMG_6846 The honeybee car bounces just slightly as a part of the blustery day (which is very different from the WDW version that bounces for a longer period of time to mimic Tigger’s bounce).

The attraction’s colors are vibrant and the characters move, though this ride is certainly no showcase for the latest in animatronics.

As Winnie the Pooh falls asleep, the guests are taken into his crazy dream of heffalumps and woozles, which are, as always, trying to steal honey. The dream sequence sometimes scares my son Z, as it is loud. There is a horn sound from a jack in the box that is particularly loud.

The bright colors and moving characters keep the ride mostly kid-friendly and when Pooh wakes up from his dream there is a wonderful happy ending with a birthday party.
Z loves this birthday party scene and that Pooh finally gets his honey! IMG_6873

Diva Tip: As the honeybee exits Pooh’s dream, look up and you might catch a glimpse of Max, Melvin and Buff. I look every time, yes I do! Disney World also has an homage to its former tenant, “Mr Toad’s Wild Ride”. If you look carefully you can see a photo of Toad handing over the deed to Owl.

Diva Tip: If you look on the honey splatter walls toward the end of the ride, you might catch a glimpse of a hidden Mickey.

The next time you are looking for a pleasant diversion for the kids, or just a nice fun easy going ride after lunch, at Hungry Bear Restaurant, check out The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

There is an accessible vehicle available, with a wheelchair transfer, if an electric vehicle is involved.

Scream factor is a 1, just because of the noise and dream sequence.
