Welcome Foolish Mortals to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host, your Diva host. The Haunted Mansion is a must do at the Magic Kingdom. Catch a ride in your very own doom buggy and take a stroll through the mansion.
The Haunted Mansion is home to 999 happy haunts and there is always room for one more. This bone chilling adventure takes you through haunted hallways, a ghostly dinner party, and an exciting graveyard where all the ghosts have come out to socialize. The Ghost Host follows you through your tour and guides you. Each room is different from the last. There are about 10 rooms that you travel through while on this ride. There is the stretching room, the Library, the Piano room, the endless stair cases, the endless hallway, Madame Leota, the dining room, the attic, the graveyard, and finally the hitchhiking ghosts room. In each of these rooms different ghosts offer different scares.
This ride is appropriate for all ages because there is no gore. But, some children may find this ride scary due to its dark nature. There are also some scenes that give this ride a scare factor of 2 out of 5. There is no height requirement. People must transfer from Wheelchair/ECV. Flash photography is not allowed at all on this ride.
Since the last refurbishment, there is an all new interactive queue that is fun for everyone. There are so many photo opportunities in the queue! There are many Hidden Mickey’s in the Haunted Mansion. I will tell you one that is super easy to find: when you enter the Grand Ballroom/Dining Room, scan the table and a Hidden Mickey is made from a plate and two small bowls. It moves all around the table, but is usually found on the far left of the table, the last place setting.
The Haunted Mansion is a must do at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. It gives a not-so-scary look at the everyday of life (so to speak) of ghosts. Catchy tunes will have you singing all day and wanting to come back for more. If you have done the interactive queue before, you may not want to do it again. But with the new installation of Fastpass+, the standby line must go through the queue and the Fastpass+ entrance takes you straight to the front door. I would recommend using a Fastpass for this ride. I find this ride to be a classic and must ride it at least twice while at the Magic Kingdom. This ride can accumulate a very long wait time during peak hours and seasons. Just keep that in mind.
You will definitely want to put the Haunted Mansion on your list of attractions to ride while at the Magic Kingdom. It is very fun and amusing all at the same time. Your Ghost Host is always looking for a volunteer to make the ghost count 1,000. Just be aware of Hitchhiking Ghosts.
