In certain sectors of the Disney community September can only mean one thing – applications are soon to open for a coveted spot on the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
For sure this coming September will be no different with the lead up to Halloween and the Holiday Season being filled with Moms Panel application excitement, angst and for some lucky folks ending with tears of joy!
In case you’ve never thought to seek out the practically perfect holiday (vacation) planning advice of the Disney Parks Moms Panel we are a group of especially selected individuals chosen for our passion and knowledge of Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Vacation Club, Disney Cruise Line, RunDisney events and team events at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
Often the highlight of a Disney Parks Moms Panelists day is helping a Disney Guest get the most out of their magical trip!
Despite the ‘Moms’ title there are several Dads on the Panel! Grandparents, Aunties & Uncles in fact anyone worldwide is welcome to apply – as long as they meet their chosen specialties eligibility; which usually means having visited a Disney Theme Park or taken part in a Disney event or Disney Cruise in the past 12 months or so.
I’m so proud to say I represent the United Kingdom on the 2014 Disney Parks Moms Panel as a Walt Disney World Resort specialist.

How did you get chosen for the Panel you ask; of course I don’t really know how the selection process works, but what I do know is that you have to be the real you!
There’s no trick, no gimmick! Let your own special brand of pixie dust just shine through at every stage of the application – so be unique and and keep a keen eye on correct Disney nomenclature, spelling and of course grammar!! And please don’t worry if you aren’t terribly active on social media or haven’t got your own blog – I didn’t.
Whatever you do… don’t give up or ever lose faith.
For 4 years running I was one of those Disney folks who were Moms Panel obsessed come each Autumn (Fall), but I kept on swimming and believing in my dreams…

Since receiving the most wonderful email of my entire life on the 20th November last year my feet haven’t touched the ground and I’ve gained a whole new family!
This year will be so different for me taking on the roll of chEARleader, but needless to say I’ll be so very excited to know who’ll be joining our family on the 2015 Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I watched your journey last year with your 2014 DPMP sisters and brothers and it brought tears to my eyes. While I made it to round 2, but not chosen to go forward, I was devastated,I thought I let my light shine for the last 7 years.
I need to shine brighter this year to gain one of those coveted spots. I thank you for the love, the inspiration but mostly for sharing your story. It gives us all hope, and without that what is there!

My husband sent me the email about applying to be on the momspanel… I’d honestly never thought about the possibility that I could actually be on the panel, and get to talk about one of the best places on earth! I’ve been helping friends plan their trips for the past 3 or 4 years, and I’m so excited that my husband believes in me enough to encourage me to apply! Wish me luck!!!!

I am sitting here enjoying a coffee (in one of my Disney mugs) and researching round 2. Yes, I made it to round 2!!! What an I to do with myself until I see the application questions and video prompt? Maybe I will look at our Disney family albums today for inspiration. Wish me luck, I am weeping as I write this

I had never thought about applying before because I am not a Mum/Mom(!) but I am excited to give it a go this year. I love helping my friends (and random strangers that mention in passing that they are going) plan every detail of their Disney holidays so this would be a Disney dream come true.
