Something that often times will get overlooked at each park are the shows. The term shows has so many meanings when it comes to Walt Disney World. It can be a big stage production, or a small street-side performance. There are so many shows at each Disney park, be sure to do some research and grab your times guide when you enter the park!
For me, each park has one specific show that I can’t visit without seeing. My hope is that I can share my list with the Diva readers so that you can enjoy the shows too!
EPCOT: At EPCOT, my favorite show to see is British Revolution. This show I definitely feel like can be easily overlooked for the average guest at the park, but it is so worth it! British Revolution is a rock band that plays great covers of songs from the best of British Rock. In their overs, they highlight bands such as The Who, The Beatles, Queen and The Rolling Stones in their set list.
My favorite thing to do when I go listen to British Revolution is to stop at Yorkshire County Fish Shop to grab some traditional fish and chips and take it back into the plaza across the way to enjoy while I listen. It’s a fun way to spend a meal and a great way to hear some rock’n’roll favorites.
Hollywood Studios: While visiting Hollywood Studios, my favorite show to try to catch is For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. Now this show is not simply for the Frozen fans in your group it can be enjoyed by everyone! The show is hosted by the Royal Historians of Arendelle who, as they recount the story of Anna and Elsa, also throw in some witty jokes and clever puns as well!
The fantastic thing about this show is that it doesn’t matter what part of the theater you end up in, you will still feel like a part of the show. And the special “cool” surprise at the end of the show is guaranteed to impress!
Magic Kingdom: For my days visiting Magic Kingdom, my go-to show is definitely Main Street Philharmonic. It’s totally the band geek in me that has to see this amazing little marching band play all my favorite Disney songs as well as some old-school march favorites. The instrumentalists that play in this ensemble are top-notch. They are skilled musicians that also know how to have a good time!
This show is easy to miss but not hard to find! They typically have multiple performances throughout the day both on Main Street, U.S.A. and in Storybook Circus as well.
Animal Kingdom: My Animal Kingdom show is hands down Festival of the Lion King. This incredible show is a MUST SEE every time you visit Animal Kingdom. The costumes and music make the performance even more breath-taking. This show takes you song-by-song through the Lion King story with live performers walking stilts and spinning fire. The entire show is interactive and enjoyable for all ages.
For as long as I can remember this show has been the top pick for anything, show or ride, for me at Disney. Lion King has always been one of my favorite movies so to see the music performed in the way that Festival of the Lion King does is amazing. I usually can’t make it out of the theater without shedding a tear or two especially during “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”.
Hopefully my list gave you some new shows to consider during your trip. There are so many shows not to be missed on your trip! What are your favorite shows?
