The Liberty Tree Tavern, located across from the Liberty Square Riverboat attraction at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, is a replica of the 18th-century Colonial restaurant, and is now on the top of my list of favorite places to dine while vacationing at Disney World. My family and I had discussed eating there numerous times, and finally on our most recent trip to Disney World we made it happen. We had reviewed the lunch menu and the dinner menu before making our advanced dining reservation and decided we preferred the dinner menu due to the fact it is an All-You-Care-To-Eat meal served family style as opposed to ordering an entrée from the lunch menu. Dinner is served from 4:00 pm until park closing, and as with any restaurant we highly recommend making your advanced dining reservations 180 days prior to your trip. Adult prices are $31.99 and guests 9 and under are $15.99. (Prices may increase during busier times of the year such as holidays.)
For those of you who have been traveling to Disney World for many years, you may recall The Liberty Tree Tavern was once a character meal, but unfortunately there are no longer character appearances.
First, your wonderful cast member will come to take your party’s drink order. Then your amazing meal will start with what is called a Declaration salad (tossed mixed greens with a house-made dressing) and warm, delicious rolls and butter.
Next comes the Patriot’s Platter. This consists of a meat platter with roasted turkey breast, sliced pork, and carved beef and all were amazing! There is also a large bowl of mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, a herb bread stuffing, and the best macaroni and cheese I have ever eaten at a Disney World restaurant. My youngest son was very pleased with the macaroni and cheese, and coming from him that means a lot. This is an all-you-can-eat meal so if you run out of any food item, just kindly ask your cast member serving you for more and they will be happy to bring as much as you and your family want to eat.
After eating all of this wonderful food you better make sure you leave room for dessert which they call Johnny Appleseed’s Cake. A tavern-made white cake is filled with apples and dried cranberries and topped with vanilla ice cream. What a great ending to such a great meal!
I know not everyone enjoys this type of food, but for my family this was one of the best meals we had on our last Disney World vacation. The only downside to the Liberty Tree Tavern is their restroom area. They have one restroom which is located upstairs, and there are only a few stalls in the restroom which can lead to a long wait in a tight area. Other than that, everything was amazing and we will definitely be eating at The Liberty Tree Tavern again.
*For anyone planning a Disney World vacation in 2015 please keep in mind The Liberty Tree Tavern is scheduled to close July 6-November 19th for renovation.
I’m wondering if they will add first floor restrooms when they are closed for refurb.
That is what I am wondering as well!
