King Triton’s Carousel

By Princess Diva
I’m not a fan of big, fast, scary rides similar to California Screamin’. They just aren’t my cup of tea (I know some of you adrenaline junkies are picking yourself off the floor right now). Lucky for me, my kids are too small to ride most of those rides, so I have some company while we wait for my husband to get twisted, turned, and flipped upside down!
What do I do with my kids while my husband waits in the single rider line you ask? We ride King Triton’s Carousel!
King Triton’s Carousel is located on Paradise Pier right next to California Screamin’ (and the restrooms, which is perfect with little ones). This also makes a perfect meeting spot. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to ride the carousel (even in the middle of summer) and my kids’ love that we can ride over and over again while we wait.
There is something magical and nostalgic about carousels. Though King Triton’s Carousel offers sea animals instead of horses as its Disney World counterpart, Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel, the feeling is the same. I love the sound of the music mixed with my kids’ laughter and I love the bright colors of all the animals (we always head for the purple sea lion…it’s my favorite).
King Triton’s Carousel is a great ride for all ages (check out another great option for everyone here). It is a great starting point for even the youngest Disney Baby as well as something that grandparents can enjoy too. As for a scream factor, I would give this a 1. Though King Triton’s Carousel isn’t a fast ride by any means, it does spin. So, if you have a history of motion sickness or rides that go in circles, you might want to steer clear of this ride.
