When we arrived at Tutto Italia Ristorante, there was a short line at the hostess stand. We gave the hostess and manager on duty our name and party size and settled in for what we thought would be a long wait (we are talking about Disney during the holidays, after all). We sent half of our adult only party down the plaza to grab everyone a glass of wine while we waited.
You will want to make sure that your entire party is accounted for when it is your turn to be seated. A group in front of us found this out the hard way, and was not happy when others were seated in front of them. The manager on duty was one of the best parts of the evening. He joked with us, gave us his recommendations for dinner and before we knew it, our party of six was ready to be seated. He even stopped by our table throughout dinner to check on us!
We had a beautiful table outside on the patio, which totally adds to the feeling of being in Italy.
My only complaint was the outdoor tables were very dark at night, having just a couple of small candles to light our dinner.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and very helpful in ordering our meal and wine. I’m the first to tell you that I am a very picky eater (no red meat for me and very little sea food), so I had a few questions about what ingredients were in certain dishes. What our waiter could not answer, he happily checked with the chef so that I would be happy with my meal; cavatelli pasta with a sweet sausage ragu, tomatoes, and pecorino cheese and tiramisu for dessert.
The menu has changed since our visit a month ago, but still offers a variety of authentic dishes sure to please anyone.
Meals at Tutto Italia Ristorante are a bit pricey, but are a nice respite from the ‘regular’ Disney food. You can use a table service meal here if you are on the Disney Dining Plan and Tutto Italia Ristorante is part of the Tables In Wonderland.
This is a place that I will definitely return to next time we are visiting. Unfortunately, for those of you visiting in the next few months, you will be unable to try this magnificent restaurant as they are currently closed for refurbishment until April 30, 2012. I can’t wait to see the changes next time we visit! Buon appetito!
Great job Katie! Love you, Aunt Darlene.
