Okay, I’m an avid Disney- goer. In the next 8 months, I have 3 trips planned. I am incredibly lucky that I am able to go that frequently, but this isn’t always the case. There are times when I go a year to a year and a half without going. Everyone knows I’m a Disney fanatic, and it’s actually difficult for me to go that long without a trip there. People ask me how I handle it and I have a lot of ways, actually. While there are moments where I just scream out “GET ME TO DISNEY, PLEASE!”, I think I’ve come up with a few great ways to handle my Disney Depression.

1512First and foremost, we are almost always planning a trip. My 8 month old had her first trip planned while she was still in the womb. We put a lot of effort in to our trips because it’s one of the ONLY places we go on vacation, we allow a ton of down time and plan, plan, plan. We plan our meals, we plan our breaks, and we plan our outfits to match the parks accordingly. We are definitely planners! This is helpful because we make the most of every second, if you’re more of a fly by the seat of your pants person, skip this step, but my trips are planned from now until 2017.

1515Second, to handle immediate depression upon leaving, I ship EVERYTHING I purchase home and yes, I purchase a LOT. Once I get home there is either a big package waiting for me OR in the days following our arrival back to reality small packages of magic come in and it is AMAZING. You can ship home any of your purchases for a small fee. I usually ship everything because it saves room in our suitcases and if anything is glass Disney will send a new one if there is damage during shipping. Ripping into a package is so exciting, I buy so much I often forget what I buy!

A very Disney Christmas, is my favorite way to handle my Disney depression. We have a whole Christmas tree in our house dedicated to Disney.   They must know when I am in the parks because ornaments are my FAVORITE thing to buy and I can surely rack up a big tab when I’m buying. We always purchase an ornament for the year we visited and/or for any special occasion we are celebrating (i.e. our engagement, our honeymoon, our DVC purchase). As we decorate our tree we laugh and smile while reminiscing about all of our trips and all of our happy memories.1520

1518Disney attire, okay, so I will admit, you will NOT catch me wearing Disney attire at home. I’m a grown woman and a professional and I won’t wear a Princess or Minnie Mouse shirt running errands around town. There is a time and a place for Disney attire, and that is in the parks on vacation. However, there is a small portion of my closet that is JUST for my Disney clothes. Sometimes rummaging through my t-shirts or sweatshirts puts a smile on my face and makes me look forward to the moment I can be in WDW wearing my big old Minnie Mouse bow t-shirt without a care in the world.

1516Disney has a HUGE home goods selection and while I won’t rock a Disney themed shirt around town, I am known to have a few things here and there throughout my house. First off, all of our magnets are Disney, we have the food magnets, any hotel we have ever stayed at, we have yearly magnets and some just for fun magnets. We also have a few odds and ends around our kitchen. We also have lots of picture frames displaying all of our favorite memories, We also have throw pillows throughout our house, such as “Be Our Guest” in our spare room and “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” on our bed.15141513
