For those of you with small children, might I suggest a visit to Bug’s Land at California Adventure on your next trip? This wonderfully themed “land” is full of fun rides and water play areas for the younger Disney guests. Both my five year old and my two year old love Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train in particular.
This easy going train ride loads up a whole bunch of guests (two to a seat, trust me, you don’t want to try for three!) at one time and takes them on a short train ride through all the foods that Heimlich from the It’s Bugs Life movie enjoys eating. On the train ride, guests drive next to an apple, through a watermelon (yes, it even smells like watermelon and you might get a drizzle wet), through an animal cracker tunnel (the smell in here is positively yummy, past a cupcake and ends with a sighting of Heimlich’s favorite thing to eat- candy corn! Heimlich narrates the ride and if you don’t know anything about the character, he speaks with a German accent and is really funny.
The scream factor for this ride is a 0. Both D’land Diva kids have ridden this ride since they were about two months old without a problem! There is no height requirement and the wait time is usually less than 10 minutes, which is perfect for the littles. Guests who need assistance must transfer, and the line allows for guests in wheelchairs and motorized vehicles to wait in line.
