Earlier this year, I told you about Holiday Time at Disneyland. Disney California Adventure Park is also trimmed out for the holidays! Here are some of the fun things to do, see and experience during the Disney Festival of Holidays!
Eat, eat, eat!! So many choices, where do you start? During the Festival of Holidays, you will find eight separate kiosks throughout the park, plus six of the restaurants with special holiday dishes. Each kiosk has several sample plates to choose from, including my favorites which are the Braised Pork Belly Adobo with Garlic Fried Rice, Chorizo Queso Fundido with House-made Tortilla Chips, Reimagined Beef Wellington, and Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese. Be sure to pick up a Tasting Passport at any of the Festival carts. This passport not only shows you the food offerings at each kiosk, but if you collect 14 stamps in the passport, you will earn a special Stamp of Completion for taking the entire tour.
Concerts and shows. Throughout the day and night, you will be entertained by bands, singers, and dancers. While we ate lunch one day on our recent visit, we sat near the stage in the Pacific Wharf and listened to The Sound. They entertained us with Christmas and Kwanzaa songs performed a cappella style. They were delightful to listen to while enjoying our meal. We also spent time one night in Sonoma Terrace to listen to Mostly Kosher as they sang songs celebrating Hanukkah in a Jazz/Latin/Rock style. Check the Entertainment Schedule to find out when and where each group will performing during your visit.
Visit Santa. At Disney California Adventure Park, you can find Santa at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (read here all about this gem). After you are done meeting Santa, stick around the Trial and enjoy how it has been transformed for Holiday Time. We went on a scavenger hunt to find the hidden presents and break a code word.
Watch the Entertainment. The Three Caballeros will host a the ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party with songs and dances near Paradise Gardens. Or watch the Holiday Toy Drummers perform their beat next to The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Or grab a FastPass or reserve a dining package to see World of Color – Season of Light. We viewed this one night from our table at the Lamplight Lounge. This version of World of Color takes holiday music and meshes in scenes from Disney Classic films. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
Enjoy the decor. Take a walk around the entire Park. You will find holiday decor in just about every corner from Cars Land, to the Pacific Wharf and into Paradise Gardens. You can create your own holiday art in front of The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, where you and your children can color and create holiday items to take home with you.
Ready to enjoy the Festival! There is still time to visit as it runs through January 6th, 2020. Let Patricia at All for Dreams Travel help you plan! Happy Holidays!
