Disney is a magical experience. Disney always tends to do “everything” right. When you compare Disney to other trips or experiences, you can tell there is A LOT of thought and time put into Disney experiences. That is all part of the magic! If you cannot make it to Disney or you are a long ways off from a trip, visit the Disney Store to get your “Disney Fix”. This might sound crazy and you are probably thinking, “Big deal what can the Disney store do for me that is so magical?” Well the Disney Store is a great place to have some fun! The fun begins as the store prepares to open it’s doors.
The Disney Store does an opening ceremony every morning when they open the store. Yes, they could just pull up the gate and open like every other store, but they do not. They open in pure Disney style. It is a really nice way that they open their stores. (picture standing on Main Street for rope drop in Disney World, ok not the same but still fun). My children experienced this for the first time recently and loved it! I enjoyed it just as much, if not more!
Arrive at the store about 10 minutes before opening. This gives you time to get there first in case there are others waiting. There are two cast members that open the gate and great you at the door. They play a short Disney song and speak about opening the store. They have ropes hanging on each side of a large key hole. One member proceeds to get a very large key. This is the “key” to the store! They have a short count down and ask a child to help them turn the key. Once the key is turned, the ropes fall open and more music plays! A cast member then gives a replica key to the child who had helped open the store. The key is a great keepsake for your Disney collection! They also have fun activities that are free to you!
Once you enter the store there is a large castle replica. This is cute for kids to stand under or even take some cute pictures! You can then head to a specific spot in the store and sit at a table and color. The spot where the table is located also has a large screen which plays Disney movies or music! Kids love this and can even get up a dance! You can really have a fun time at the store without spending a fortune.
This summer they have a daily play time called Disney Play Days. The store near me provides it every day at 3pm. They offer fun activities for children to do which are free of charge! You can also check your local stores for special promotions or events. It is also fun to bring to Disney fun to your home without having to travel.
