The news we have been waiting for is here!! Dining plans are finally returning to Walt Disney World in 2024.
Disney World Dining Plans include a ton of food!
Prior to the summer of 2020, guests of Official Disney World Resorts could add several dining plan options to their Disney World Vacation Package. The most popular are listed below.
- Quick Service Dining Plan
- 2 quick service meals per guest, per night
- 1 included beverage with each meal
- 2 snacks per guest per night
- 1 Refillable Resort mug per guest
- Disney Dining Plan
- 1 quick service meal per guest, per night
- 1 table service meal per guest, per night (Character meals, buffets, family-style, and more!)
- 1 included beverage with each meal
- 2 snacks per guest, per night
- 1 Refillable Resort mug per guest
Most character meals will accept 1 Table Service Credit.
- Disney Deluxe Dining Plan
- 3 table service or quick service meals per guest, per night
- 1 included beverage with each meal
- 2 snacks per guest, per night
- 1 Refillable Resort mug per guest
If adding, every guest on the package ages 3 and up had to purchase the same Dining Plan. The “credits” could be used in any order, from the time of check-in until midnight on the day of check-out. (Credits expired at the end of the vacation, not each night)
For many guests, the convenience of having food budgeted and paid for in advance was the top benefit of using the Dining Package. The Disney Travel Company and many guests claim that they have seen significant savings when using the Dining Plan compared to paying out of pocket. And while this point has often been argued among fans and guests, I can say that we have personally experienced huge savings when using the Quick Service Dining Plan.
More options to choose from without worrying about budget!
- Many guests stick to lower-cost items when paying out of pocket.
- When using the Dining Plan, guests can select almost any meal from the participating locations. They have the opportunity to enjoy healthier choices or items that might be at the higher end of the budget when using the dining plan!

Extend your meals with Snack Credits
- Snack credits can be used at quick service locations that offer breakfast.
- Grab a quick breakfast using Refillable Mugs and Snack Credits for muffins, yogurt parfaits, sides of bacon/sausage, and more!! Remember Disney portions are HUGE! Our family of 6 will grab 2 muffins, 2 parfaits, and 2 sides of bacon to split among us!

Don’t be afraid to say “YES” to Snacks!
- When paying out of pocket, many guests feel the need to limit the purchase of onsite guests!
- There’s something special about saying “YES” every night to a special snack request!
Alcohol is included for Adults over 21!
- Disney World offers amazing drink choices at their dining locations. With the Dining Plans, guests over 21 can order 1 alcoholic drink with each meal.
- Many drinks are upwards of $14. Once the tax is added that is a $30 nightly benefit per adult!

TODAY’S NEWS IS MAGICAL!!
Today we received word that Disney World Packages for 2024 would be available to book beginning on May 31. At that time, guests arriving on January 9, 2024 or later will be able to include a Disney Dining Plan with their package! Guests will be able to choose from two pre-paid Dining Plan options…
Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and standard menu options are available on the Disney Dining Plan
- Quick Service Dining Plan
- 2 quick service meals per guest, per night
- 1 snack per guest, per night
- 1 Resort Refillable mug per guest
- Disney Dining Plan
- 1 quick service meal per guest, per night
- 1 table service meal per guest, per night
- 1 snack per guest, per night
- 1 Refillable Resort mug per guest
Disney Dining Plans and Snacks are available in 2024!!
Guests purchasing a 2024 Dining Plan have a few special options when it comes to their beverage selection also!
- Children 3-9 can select a standard beverage with their meals (milk, juice, soft drink, Powerade, lemonade, or tea)
- Guests over the age of 10 can choose one of the options noted above or select a specialty non-alcoholic drink with their meal (smoothie, specialty coffee, and more)
- Guests over the age of 21 can select a standard beverage, specialty beverage, or alcoholic drink with their meals.
At this time, pricing has not been offered for these new package inclusions. Guests will need to wait a little longer to determine if the Disney Dining Plan is a good fit for their family. In the meantime, there are a few points to consider.
- The Disney Dining packages are optional.
- As mentioned above, if guests choose to add a dining package, all guests on their Disney World Reservation must add the same dining package.
- Guests under the age of 3 are not eligible for Disney Dining Packages. They are eligible to share plates with other family members. If a larger amount of food is needed for the youngest travelers, guests are welcome to purchase their food out of pocket.
- Guests aged 3-9 must order off of the Child menu where available.
- All credits can be rolled over day to day.
- All credits will expire at midnight on check-out day.
