Earlier this week the Disney Travel Company notified Travel Agents of new Cancellation and Payment Policies for guests of Disney Cruise Line vacations.
Cruises booked on or after September 11, 2018 will be subject to these new policies. Previously booked cruises will adhere to the original terms set forth in their contracts.
Continue reading below for a list of all new policies.
Deposit
All bookings require a 20% deposit at the time of booking. All guests, including children under the age of 3, will be subject to this deposit. It will apply to new bookings, bookings in which guests change their sail date and reinstated bookings.
Final Payment
Final payment for cruises booked on or after September 11, 2018 will be determined by the length of your sailing and type of stateroom booked.
Cruises of 1-5 nights
Standard Staterooms (Non-suite, Non-Concierge) will require full payment 90 days prior to arrival.
Suites and Concierge Staterooms must be paid in full 120 days prior to arrival.
Cruises of more than 6 nights
Standard Staterooms (Non-suite, Non-Concierge) will now require full payment 120 days prior to arrival.
Suites and Concierge Staterooms must now be paid in full 150 days prior to arrival.
Cancellation Fees
Cancellation fees for all cruises booked on or after September 11, 2018 will also be determined by the length of sailing and type of stateroom booked. However, when you cancel is also a factor. Cruises cancelled further away from the sailing will have a smaller cancellation penalty than those cancelled closer to the sail date.

The biggest take away from this announcement is the new, final payment date for cruises over 6 nights. With these payments being due at 120 days, potential guests may have to do a little more pre-planning and budgeting for these trips. It is also important to note that guests planning a “last minute” trip within this 120-day window will now be required to make full payment at time of booking.
