For many, this is THE reason to attend D23: to get a good look at Disney archives.
The Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives was a special exhibit that was brought to the Expo by the D23: Official Fan Club and the Walt Disney Archives. It featured pictures, artifacts and even some storyboards from Mary Poppins (which is celebrating its 50th anniversary soon). The exhibit also housed some costumes from the ABC television show Once Upon a Time, the Disney Channel movie Teen Beach Movie, and some artifacts that demonstrate the ties between L.Frank Baum’s Oz books and the Disney movie about Oz. For the first time ever in the U.S., guests were also treated to a view of designer dresses from Harrods, which were inspired by Disney princesses.
So without further adieu, here are some of the photos from the exhibit:
Harrod’s Dress: Belle
Once Upon a Time
Oz the Great and Powerful
And the best part (in my humble opinion) Mary Poppins original artifacts!
LOVE the Mary Poppins stuff!! DvD did that last pose in the movie too!!
