Celebrating your birthday at Disney World is truly a magical experience! What better place to celebrate a special occasion? The Budget Diva’s daughter was lucky enough to celebrate her 5th birthday at Disney World last spring 2012. Be sure to go directly to guest services at the parks to pick up your complimentary birthday button (they have buttons for many other special occasions also). This will allow the characters, wait staff, other tourists, etc to know that it is your birthday. You will receive extra special attention ranging from ‘happy birthday’ to special acknowledgement from characters and maybe even complimentary birthday cupcakes when dining!
Be sure to make a note on your advanced dining reservation that you will be celebrating a special occasion. I also recommend letting the hostess know you are celebrating when you arrive. At Chef Mickey’s the wait staff and characters sing Happy Birthday and provide a delicious complimentary chocolate cupcake to anyone celebrating a birthday!
Don’t forget your autograph book–a lot of times the characters will make note that it is your birthday when signing your autograph book. This is such a special memory for children to look back on.
