Earlier this week I got this question:
“ My parents have been generous enough to lend us vacation points (as they are Disney Vacation Club Members) and we are staying at Saratoga Springs Spa & Resort. We are flying down, due to time constraints and I was wondering what you would recommend for a breakfast that we can do in the room. We are on the Dining Plan (as I have experienced it is the easiest to do $$ wise) but are using our Quick Serves & Table Serves while in the parks.”
(she actually had a few more questions I’m going to break into other questions too)
The Diva Family ALWAAAAAAAYYYS goes BYOB (Bring Your Own Breakfast) at Disney World, even if we are on the Dining Plan in order to best use our “meals” UNLESS we are using a Character Meal as breakfast (which we do often so we can get in parks earlier).
You want to look for items that a) travel well and b) you can eat on a bus, standing in line for a bus, or walking from your resort to the bus-stop.
We normally bring something like:
– granola bars, Fiber One bars, Natures Valley bars
– apples
– pre-packaged cereal boxes (that we eat dry)
– Quaker Oatmeal to Go bars
And OF COURSE if you are at a resort you should purchase (in some meal plans it comes with the dining plan) the Resort Drink Mug so that you can have “FREE” hot coffee, juice, or soda.
Good luck and happy dining!
