I have always been a lover of Disney World. I’ve been traveling there since I was a child myself. Now that I am married with two young daughters we decide to travel to Disney World at least once a year if not twice. We do like to try different hotels every time we go if possible. We are fortunate enough to have a friend who owns Disney Vacation Club allowed us to rent his points. This is a nice way to try out many deluxe resorts at a much cheaper price than booking directly through Walt Disney World. Sometimes my friend did not have enough points to rent out to my family or we decided to do a last minute Disney trip since we always drive from New Jersey we have stayed at moderate and value resorts in the past. Since I have stayed in many different Disney resorts including all three categories of a value a moderate and a deluxe we do enjoy deluxe resort the most.
For the past seven years my family has stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village several times and we absolutely love it. We have been fortunate enough to have a Savanna View one time which was awesome for the kids. If we did no,t you can go downstairs and sit outside of the Savannah and watch all the animals. My daughters absolutely love this part. One of my husband and eyes favorite hotels of all times was the Polynesian resort. We love the whole Polynesian theme and the resort and grounds are beautiful. We love that it’s on the monorail route or just a ferry ride away from Magic Kingdom. It wasn’t until we decided to finally take a Disney cruise this past April where we stayed at Bay Lake tower after our cruise for a few nights. And after staying at several different deluxe resorts my husband and I both agreed we think Bay Lake is our new absolute favorite!
Bay Lake Tower may not seem appealing to some people. I know some people who say they absolutely love it and others say that it does not blow them away and there’s nothing spectacular about it. One of the absolute best things about Bay Lake is that it is literally right next-door to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. The walk is probably about seven minutes long and that works out great for small children especially with just throwing them in the stroller and heading out! I feel like location wise you cannot get more convenient than Bay Lake.
When you walk in the lobby, I will tell you that yes, it is nothing spectacular and it will not blow you away. It is all stone and marble and does give off a little bit of that cold feeling but it’s beautiful and just shines. I actually like that is a small lobby and it’s not overcrowded or busy. To my family, one downfall with staying at the Polynesian Resort. Because there are so many restaurants and it is such a popular resort with the monorail, the lobby always seems crowded and very loud. Bay Lake is not like that at all. When you check into Bay Lake tower it’s literally just your rooms and also has a community hall with arts and crafts for children. All your food options would be next-door at the Contemporary Resort which is very easy to walk over to.
When we were recently at Bay Lake we happened to have a Lake view, but we got very lucky and not only did we have our balcony with a Lake view half of our view was of the castle in Tomorrowland meaning we saw the fireworks perfectly from our balcony and our beds in our hotel room! This room could not be more convenient and more perfect!
I am someone that is very in to style and white is in when it comes to home Decor. I absolutely love the way that Bay Lake is decorated and the decor of the entire room and bathroom and kitchen area. Everything was modern and up-to-date and the style that my husband and I enjoy. The little kitchen area was great because it was it’s own room. It had a coffee pot and a large dorm like fridge. It had a huge pull out pantry and another storage and counter area behind that. There was plenty of room for all your snacks and goodies! We really enjoyed our room at Bay Lake.
Bay Lake also has their own pool which is great because Bay Lake Tower is not overly large. This meant that the pool was not overly crowded, at least not when we used it.. There is a small kid squirt area which my seven and three year olds enjoyed!
They have two water slides for children and an outside bar where you can get drinks and food. The pool was beautiful, and the pool area was clean and very well maintained and taken care of. In the afternoon they had pool side activities for children like most of the hotels. You are also able to use the pool at the Contemporary Resort as well. I would love to stay here again in the future and so would my young children. My seven year old daughter loved it!
