Baby’s First Haircut at the Magic Kingdom
By Savvy Diva
If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend having your child’s first haircut at the
The Harmony Barbershop is on Main Street USA, to the left after you enter the main gates. I think it’s one of the best kept secrets in the park.
It’s not very big. They have three barber chairs and only a few other places to sit down so don’t bring the entire clan with you inside if they’re busy. The picture to the left here is right outside the shop and what you see behind my handsome husband and darling baby boy is the whole shop. I am not kidding when I say it’s small.
I strongly suggest making a reservation. You can do that through Disney Dining 407-wdw-dine. We didn’t have to wait very long at all at our morning appointment.
Our barber, Diane, was terrific! She was able to give our squiggly boy a perfect haircut in no time. She was also very careful to save all the clippings for me in tissue paper to take home for the baby book.
After she was done, she presented my son with his very first pair of Mickey Mouse Ears that had “First Haircut” embroidered on the back. He also got a certificate to commemorate the special event. Both of these are included in the price.
Even if it’s not your child’s first haircut, they will gladly save the clippings for you if you want a keepsake or if you want to donate to an organization like Locks of Love.
This whole experience was priceless for us and I’m so glad we did it. It’s a memory we will cherish forever. Not many kids can say they got their haircut at Disney World!
The Harmony Barber Shop is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children’s haircuts cost $15 and special first haircuts cost $18.
My son is gettIng his first haircut there on the 23. I am so excited!
