Many of us who frequent Walt Disney World always tend to have a favorite attraction. I realized my family has our own. I have many friends who travel to Walt Disney World and agree that they usually tend to start off each park with the same attraction or ride each time they vacation there. It is interesting to see what others tend to do first when they enter one or all the parks. Part of me, being the Disney lover that I am, looks at it as a nice level of comfort. I like to do the same things normally first because it gives me that feeling of being comfortable. If doing it first, it also usually means it’s a favorite of ours and we are eager to do it! So here is a great way to build your family’s very own Disney Park Plan – including ideas on where to go first and especially WHY you should go there.
Magic Kingdom is my favorite, no matter how much older I become. The minute my feet hit Main Street inside Magic Kingdom, I get that warm fuzzy feeling along with the rest of my family! Once we walk down Main Street and past Cinderella’s Castle, for years we always tend to stroll off and up to the left. We always head right to Liberty Square. We do this even though my children are small and you would think Fantasy Land would be our first choice. Well, it’s not, partially because I have been going to Walt Disney World long before my kids came along. Haunted Mansion is my absolute favorite attraction, EVER. I do not fully understand why, but it is. It always was and it is one of the main attractions I look forward to the minute we visit Magic Kingdom on the first day of our trip. My kids are somewhat into it and do not understand why we need to do this first, but we do. We head over to experience the slow moving dark ride. I think it’s also a nice relaxing ride which is great because with two small children, the rest of my Magic Kingdom day will be hectic. This is probably why I love to start my trip off with this ride. We visit frequently so I try not to become too overwhelmed, plus I do not want to do too much where the kids cannot handle it. So we spend a few hours and then randomly have other parks spread out over our week stay. Next up would usually be Animal Kingdom.
I have grown to love Animal Kingdom more over the years. I also felt like there was not enough to keep my children occupied since they are only six and two, but there is! Again, even with this park, we have our usual attraction we visit first. This would be the Kilimanjaro Safari Expedition.
For some reason, we just love to do this first. It is relaxing and wonderful to just sit in a truck and drive around the Savannah. The animals are beautiful. It is so interesting to see how they all interact and live on this amazing piece of property. Next up, Hollywood Studios.
At Hollywood Studios we also have one area we tend to always check out first. For some reason we always venture over to Animation Courtyard where the Disney Junior Theater is located. We like to do this because my girls are young and they love the entire area. In the courtyard, they have the theater with a Disney Junior live show with many show times throughout the day.You can also Fast Pass this show if you wanted to do so. We usually do not use a pass on the show but check the times when we get there. If we happen to just miss the one showing we have a few things to do while we wait for the next show time. Outside of the theater they usually have the character meet and greets.
We noticed when we go that the lines are never too long and my daughters are alright with waiting because they are watching their favorite characters. Outisde of the theater they normally have Doc Mcstuffins, Sofia the First and Jake. Lastly, is one of our new favorites, Epcot.
Again, for some reason we walk right to Spaceship Earth. Now that is the huge dome which is the icon of Epcot. I have noticed that the wait for this ride is never long and it is not worth using a Fast Pass. Maybe we venture to this first because we like to walk past it in order to enter the park? I am not fully sure why we do, but we do! It is one of those attractions that aren’t dubbed the “most fun,” but it’s a staple and you must check it out. It is slow moving and you are inside with air conditioning, which usually helps being that it is usually so warm or humid. It is interesting because it goes through the evolution of the world. Kids who are young have no understanding of this, but to my girls they just think it’s a cool thing to do.
