If you decide to visit Disneyland from the middle of September to end of November, you are in for a treat. What started out as a few Halloween decorations and a makeover of the Haunted Mansion Ride over ten years ago, has become a full blown experience that should not be missed!
Halloween Time at Disneyland comes complete with decorations, ride makeovers, games, live entertainment, special foods, special merchandise and a very special after hours Halloween Party (called Mickey’s Halloween Party, it is a hard ticketed event).
Here are the top 5 things you do not want to miss about Halloween Time at Disneyland:
1. Decorations. At the front gate you are greeted with pumpkin figures of the Fab 5. This is just a sample of what is inside. On Main Street the lamp posts are decorated with fall leaves and banners, the tops of buildings have pumpkins with intricately carved faces, and you can catch characters dressed in their Halloween costumes. Even the cups at decorated!
2. The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay of the Haunted Mansion. See Jack Skellington and all his friends take over the Haunted Mansion with amazing music and a mix of Christmas and Halloween fun.
3. Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. This ride makeover adds creepy music and scary projections to the normal dark ride. Diva Tip: This is a bit scarier than most of the Halloween additions to the park, so be cautious with the younger riders.
4. Big Thunder Ranch Halloween Roundup. Each year, this experience grows, and this year it is AMAZING! There are carnival games, a character villain tent, performances complete with Halloween music and dancing by Billy Hill and the Hillbillies and crafts for the kids. Be on the lookout for the Fab 5 all dressed up in their Halloween costumes!
