Eligible members can take advantage of discounts on tickets, Disney Resort visits and select Cruises. When traveling to Disney World, military members and families also have access to Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort, an on-property MWR resort privately owned by the Department of Defense. Shades of Green (SOG) offers many of the same benefits of a Disney World Deluxe Resort; on property location, extra magic hours and access to transportation are part of the appeal of this resort. But, consider that this resort will cost you approximately 30% less than a Disney Deluxe and it instantly becomes an even more attractive lodging option. 
Room rates for Shades of Green are based on military rank, DoD rating or veteran status. A full list of eligibility standards can be found on the SOG website. What is most important to know is that room rates are grouped into three categories:

All specials can be booked online except R&R Vacation. Please call room reservations toll free 1-888-593-2242 (CONUS) or (407) 824-3600 (OCONUS) and mention R&R leave status. Also be prepared to show leave orders at check in (DA 31, AF 988, NV 3065 or CG 2519). A few other important points to note…all rates quoted are for two adults and up to three children per standard room. Additional adults require an extra nightly charge of $15.00 each (maximum of 5 guests total per standard room). Both active members and spouses are eligible to reserve rooms at Shades of Green. Each is able to reserve a total of three rooms, allowing for a maximum reservation of six rooms. Exceptions * During Christmas week room reservations are capped at three maximum. * Category 1 rooms for sponsor and dependent will receive Category 1 rate; additionally sponsored rooms will receive Category 2 rate.
