Have you ever ventured over to Disney’s Boardwalk? Ever walk over from Epcot or Hollywood Studios? Taken the boat for the quick trip? Did you know there are several restaurants along with a few counter service options? One of the restaurants is the Big River Grille & Brewing Works. If you have never eaten there, definitely consider it for your next trip.
Leaving a park to enjoy a meal is not something my family usually does. Whatever park we happen to be in is where we eat. Recently we were in Epcot and couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat. We didn’t want a big sit down meal and since it was July we wanted something air conditioned.
After we looked at all the in-park options we started to thing outside the park. What was close, but easy to get to? Then we remembered Big River Grille & Brewing Works. There were no reservations available, but we figured we would chance it since it was around 3 in the afternoon.
Lucky for us, there was no wait. There were only a few diners and more showed up for an early dinner as we were finishing up. We were seated right away and promptly served.
Big River Grille & Brewing Works is the only microbrewery on site. You can watch the onsite brewmaster through the glass windows. Those wishing to drink must be over 21 years of age.
The restaurant is family friendly with a good kids menu. It serves American pub food favorites. During this visit I ate off of the appetizer menu. I highly recommend the quesadillas. I substituted the chicken that came in it with grilled chicken since I’m a wimp and didn’t want the spicier chicken that normally comes in it. This alone was meal sized. I added a small Caesar salad as well since I was starving. My husband opted for the Club Sandwich and a beer, both of which he enjoyed.
In the past, we have had the burgers which were also very good. The kids liked the choices on the kids menu. My son was especially excited to get a grilled cheese sandwich-his favorite. The kids meals come with a small veggie plate while we ate our salads. My daughter thought this was really cool. We have not had the stomach room for dessert, but the Double Chocolate Fudge Cake looked amazing. (If you have it, let me know how it is!)
Now that you know about the Big River Grille & Brewing Works restaurant be sure to wander over to the Boardwalk and try it out. If you are looking for good food and a good price in a relaxing atmosphere, then this is the place for you.
