Many people love to explore things while they are on vacation. For people who love exploring and learning new things, Disney World offers a great tour of Magic Kingdom. The tour at Magic Kingdom is called Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom. I will provide some information along with a couple things that you will see but some things are subject to change. I do not want to give too much away because the tour is pretty awesome.
Know Before You Go
I purchased this tour as a gift for my husband and stepfather this past July. The tour cost is $99.00 per person. If you are a season passholder, vacation club member or have the Disney credit card, you will receive 15% on the tour. You must be at least 16 years of age or older to participate in the tour. No children are allowed on the tour. The tour is a minimum of 5 hours long including lunch. This tour is also something you can do alone. It’s not necessarily something you need to do with someone you know. This is good for families who are traveling with children where one parent would need to stay behind. Since the tour takes place inside Magic Kingdom you must use a park pass to enter. The tour price is strictly for the tour only and does not guarantee your admittance into the park if you do not have a valid park ticket.
For my family, the tour started that day at 8:30 a.m. but they were told to arrive at least 45-30 minutes early. At this time all transportation services were available and there were no issues with arriving at the park early. You are NOT allowed to take any pictures at all while on this tour. This is strictly enforced. Once the tour begins you will see and learn things at ground level, then head to the underground utilidor tunnels. These tunnels consist of all the storage and planning of everything that is done inside Magic Kingdom. All food, changing, costumes, everything that is needed to allow Magic Kingdom to run smoothly is located in this “underground town”. After learning and seeing these tunnels, you are then brought back up and are given the opportunity to go on two rides without a fastpass or waiting on line! You enter the ride through an entirely separate entrance and walk right on. On the day of my husband’s tour he rode on Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. The experience was pretty cool since you’re normally waiting on lines for a ride. When lunch time rolled around he received his included lunch- anything off the menu at Cosmic Rays located in Tomorrowland. You are given a special keepsake at the end of your tour. My husband and stepfather received a gold key pin and a Disney name tag with their name.
I do not think this tour is overpriced, considering it is located inside the park and it lasts many hours. You are given lunch and have the opportunity to go on a couple rides ahead of others! That in itself is pretty cool and worth the money! You are also able to see the park before it opens and can truly appreciate the scenery without crowds. Based on the questions from several people on the tour, my husband’s group that day lasted closer to 7 hours. The money was well worth it and it is really only a tour you need to experience once. Seeing how Magic Kingdom operates is pretty interesting. You can find out more information of this tour by clicking here.

Hi! I know the restaurant location for the lunch included with this tour can change (Liberty Inn, Tomorrowland Terrace, Cosmic Ray’s, etc). I talked to a cast member earlier today and they said the lunch for Jan. dates will most likely be at Tomorrowland Terrace. My husband and I are vegetarians. I don’t really want to pay $99 and not be able to eat, as TT has no vegetarian options on menu. Cosmic Ray’s does, however. Is there any better way to predict this or find out a concrete location?
Hi! When we had originally booked the tour for my husband it’s stated they were going to eat lunch at Columbia house. The morning they arrived for the tour they were told they would be eating at cosmic rays in tomorrowland. Some places do not list vegetarian or allergy options on their menus. However if you do ask they are so very accommodating and some places do you have vegetarian options that are not listed on their menu. I know that at pecos bill for example does not have it on their menu but they do have a vegetarian option that consist of a vegetarian rice dish that you can order. I’m sure you will be able to find something wherever the tour decides to take you for lunch. The tour is very interesting and worth the money even if you take the lunch out of consideration. ?? I hope You enjoy!
Yes it really is a great treat for a Disney fan!
