In my opinion, when planning a Disney vacation, one must have a table service reservation for breakfast at least once during the trip. It’s a really great way to fuel up and prepare for a day full of magic and excitement! Ultimately, my favorite place to eat breakfast is at ‘Ohana, located in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! You probably already know that “O’hana” means “family” which is very evident as you feel like you’re at home. The atmosphere and cast members are all warm and friendly. Our waiter was extremely friendly and very attentive. And it doesn’t hurt that ‘Ohana is a character meal where you can meet characters such as Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto! My first tip is to have your camera ready for pictures! Everyone loves to take photos with their favorite characters, but at ‘Ohana, Stitch is the only character that comes with a Disney PhotoPass photographer!
There are great seats everywhere but one of my favorite spots to sit is against the window with a view of Magic Kingdom! This is especially fun if you plan to visit Magic Kingdom after eating breakfast! Another tip to remember is that after breakfast, if you’re going to Magic Kingdom; don’t forget that you can take the Monorail from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to Magic Kingdom! Another option that some people may not know is available is the boat transportation. The resort offers boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom, even if you’re not a resort guest! I have to say that this is my favorite option!
The best part of ‘Ohana is obviously the food! Breakfast at ‘Ohana is “all you care to enjoy” which is great for a wide variety of appetites! While some “all you care to enjoy” restaurants may be buffet style, ‘Ohana brings the food to you! You’ll receive a basket of assorted bread and a plate of seasonal fruits, not to mention the tasty juice! Then you’ll receive a plate of scrambled eggs, pork sausage, bacon, island style potatoes, and the very popular Mickey and Stitch waffles! Everything is super tasty and if one plate isn’t enough, they’ll bring more!
My last tip is to make reservations and do it early! Reservations may be made 180 days in advance! ‘Ohana is very popular and depending on the time of year, reservations could fill up quickly. In reality, you’ll probably be fine, but I prefer to play it safe! Also, ‘Ohana accepts the Disney Dining Plan and requires one table service credit per person.
I don’t know about you, but if I’m spending more than a few days at Walt Disney World, I’m eating breakfast at ‘Ohana! And if you haven’t had breakfast at ‘Ohana, you really owe it to yourself to try it!
