If you are looking for a quick service eatery at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, look no further than Sunshine Seasons. This restaurant is located in The Land Pavilion. I’m sure that you have noticed those delicious smells wafting past your nose as you hustle and bustle your way to jump on Soarin’, but perhaps you haven’t yet taken the time to eat there. To be honest, it took my family quite a few trips before we tried it ourselves. Once we partook of the excellent foods they offered, however, we decided that Sunshine Seasons is definitely on our short list of favorite quick service restaurants.
There are several different dishes to choose from, and if you are indecisive like I am, this makes it hard, but I’m pretty sure all of them are delicious, so you can’t really go wrong. The six oversized menus are posted on the wall for quick and easy viewing. The menus are divided up by categories, The Grill, Soup and Salad, Asian Noodles, Sandwiches, The Bakery, and Breakfast. We arrived in time to eat lunch, so I won’t be able to comment on the breakfast menu, but I hear it’s very tasty.
My husband opted for Mongolian Beef with Vegetable Fried Rice. Both he and I LOVE Asian cuisine, and he was very impressed with the Mongolian Beef and Rice. The portion size, as with most Walt Disney World restaurants, was very generous, providing more than enough food to give you the energy and strength for all that walking you tend to do at Disney parks. He loved the taste of the food itself, really enjoying the dish he chose.
I believe I did mention that both my husband and I love Asian cuisine. That being said, I chose the Asian Shrimp Stir-Fry with Vegetable Lo Mein Noodles. I don’t think anyone can quite comprehend the absolute LOVE I have for Lo Mein noodles. If it’s anywhere on a menu, it’s a pretty safe bet that I’m going to order it. I mean, we’re talking about a woman who LIVED on Lo Mein noodles and milk shakes when I was pregnant with my first child. Did I mention I love Lo Mein noodles? I’m pretty fond of shrimp also, so I attacked my dish with a lot of gusto when I sat down with it. It did not disappoint. So, so SOO good. And there was so much of it. I’m pretty sure this one is going to be my go-to dish when we go back to Sunshine Seasons.
As much as I adore Lo Mein noodles, my youngest son adores mashed potatoes (or, as we call it at my house, “smashed taters”. I guess that’s a southern thing.) If a dish at a restaurant has mashed potatoes listed, that’s what he’s getting! As a matter of fact, both of my boys opted for the Slow Roasted Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes, BBQ Sauce and Corn on the Cob. Let it be known, that my two guys, who rarely clean a plate, totally demolished every ounce of food from their plates. I guess it’s safe to say they enjoyed it. The only thing remaining was the cleaned cob and bone from the pork chop. The rate at which they maniacally chomped through definitely discouraged me from asking for a taste, as I feared for my life if I attempted to take a morsel away, but that’s okay, I was full from my own food anyway. Let’s just move on to dessert now….something I’m very fond of.
My husband loves a good strawberry shortcake, so he was very excited to find it on the menu. From the sounds of delight coming from his mouth as he ate, I’m guessing it was pretty darn good.
My whole family knows that if cheesecake is on the menu, I’m there baby! I guess you could say, that’s my thang!! It was so creamy, sweet and delish. I’m sure I was probably making those same sounds of delight, I don’t know, I was too busy trying to cram it all in my mouth so I wouldn’t have to share, even though my stomach was already so full.
Again, both my sons ordered the same thing for dessert, the chocolate mousse cake. They both enjoyed it, though they weren’t able to eat much since they had polished off everything on their lunch plates earlier.
We have tried other items at Sunshine Seasons, though I don’t have pictures, and to date, everything we have tasted there is a delight to the taste buds. It’s diverse menu selections actually make it a step up from most of the other quick service restaurants. Sunshine Seasons is definitely Dining Plan friendly, so don’t worry about that if you are a Dining Plan guest. If you aren’t into doing the Dining Plan, the prices are on the lower side, making it a great option for non-dining plan users as well. Being a Quick Service restaurant, reservations are neither needed nor taken. There are plenty of tables in the pavilion, so don’t worry about finding a seat when you get there. Not to repeat myself, but…Sunshine Seasons is a really wonderful quick service dining option. If you haven’t tried it yet, you really need to plan on a meal at Sunshine Seasons.
