If you’re like me, you’ve probably been waiting for an Olaf meet and greet since “Frozen” was released in 2013. This Spring, Olaf finally made his way to Hollywood Studios, and is melting the hearts of anyone who comes to meet him.
Olaf’s little corner of Hollywood Studios is located in the ABC Sound Studio, the same building as the Frozen Sing-a-long. This new Celebrity Spotlight area is right across from the Backlot Express, and is tucked away in the corner. I would have missed it if I hadn’t been looking at a map. Walk past the Frozen Fractals gift shop towards the Backlot Express and look towards your right. There you can hop in line to meet everyone’s favorite snowman.
This is where the line to meet Olaf begins. In the left of the picture you can see the building for the bathrooms right across from the Backlot Express.
I got to Hollywood Studios a little before opening and headed straight to meet Olaf because I didn’t know what to expect for the lines. There weren’t too many families in front of me, and I probably only waited about 15 minutes in total. The waiting area is covered and has fans, so even in the heat of Olaf’s favorite season, standing in line isn’t too bad. A cast member lets a few families at a time inside to a hallway lined with sand to give it that summer vibe Olaf loves. The room is a summer wonderland, but feels nice and cool, so no worries, he’s not going to start melting on you.
Olaf was super excited to meet everyone and welcomed lots of warm hugs. Olaf signs a super cute autograph that will be a perfect addition to your autograph books (check out these cute autograph book ideas here.) Instead of just signing his name, Olaf draws a precious picture of himself for you to add to your collection. And there is a photo pass photographer to capture every warm hug. My tip is if you’ve purchased Memory Maker, tell the Photopass photographer beforehand and they will go crazy will all kinds of pictures! It’s nice to have a ton of different poses and snapshots from the interaction. For a cute photo ideas, capture the moment you give Olaf a warm hug that will forever be “frozen” in time. Don’t forget to talk to Olaf about his favorite season!
I saw the line actually go down further in the day so it’s probably easier to meet Olaf later in the day. There is no fastpass+ for this character interaction and it honestly isn’t needed. Olaf’s line never seemed too long the few other times I walked past it. Olaf’s entry into the kingdom of Hollywoodland was a little overshadowed by Star Wars experiences, so it shouldn’t be too much of a stretch to fit this little snowman into your day.
He really does like warm hugs, so go visit Olaf in Hollywood Studios! This will be an interaction that you and your family will always remember!
