There are quite a few options when looking for character dining at the Disneyland Resort. Your character dining options even allow you to choose whether to be inside or outside the parks at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels. Also when choosing your character dining, you have choices between featured characters such as Minnie Mouse, Ariel and her fellow princesses, Goofy, Mickey, Pluto, and even Chip & Dale along with others.
Here is a list of the character dinning options and where they are located throughout the Disneyland Resort:
Breakfast with Minnie and Friends at The Plaza Inn
Located inside Disneyland on the end of Main Street
Price: Adults $30, Children (3-9) $14
Ariel’s Disney Princess Celebration at Ariel’s Grotto

(They also have lunch and dinner options, those prices are $2-4 more per person)
Goofy’s Kitchen

(There is also a dinner option- the price is $6 more for adults, children are still $17)
Surf’s Up! Breakfast with Mickey and Friends at PCH Grill

Storytellers Breakfast inside Storytellers Cafe

My family and I have been able to experience three out of the five character dining options and each one has been such a different experience for us. So far, the favorite for all of us is Goofy’s Kitchen character dining!
When you first arrive and check in at Goofy’s Kitchen you don’t see much at first, but you can hear the sounds of children laughing, the clinging of plates and families visiting. Once they call your name, you and your family are escorted to an enclosed area in the front of the restaurant. When you walk around the corner, Goofy is there waiting for you! It’s a special one-on-one moment you get with that big silly guy and a great photo opportunity for all. After spending a minute or two with Goofy you are then escorted to your table. A server will come take your drink orders and explain the buffet options and off you go!
Ok…now I’m sure some of you cringed when I mentioned “buffet”, but seriously you may not have been to a buffet like this one. I was honestly so impressed on the freshness of everything in the buffet. I am a very picky when it comes to buffet items especially the fruit, but it was all great, and there were so many options.
Some of the few options I remember were:
-Custom Omelette station
-Mickey Mouse Waffles
-Alice’s French Toast
-Eggs Benedict
-Mickey Mouse Pancakes
-Max’s Crisp Bacon
-Cereal (so many different kinds)
-Fresh Fruit (an entire bar full)
-Muffins, bagels, toast
-Desserts of all kinds…even soft served ice cream
-Goofy’s Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza (we were not brave enough to try that)
During the time we enjoyed our meal we were able to meet other characters such as: Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale (and another visit from Goofy). My daughter just loved it and my husband and I thought that we actually got our money’s worth with this dining option.
If you have never experienced character dining at Disneyland before I would highly recommend it. Even if you try it just once, character dining can add some magic to your Disney vacation in a different way!
