Top Ten Free Things in Walt Disney World That Make Great Souvenirs
A trip to Walt Disney World can be expensive, but here are my top ten tips for FREE FUN in the Disney parks….in no particular order.
1- Park Maps
Park Maps make excellent souvenirs. Since Disney World is always changing and evolving, it is very fun to look back and remember which attractions were open or what parades and shows were running that specific year. They make great inserts for scrapbooks or photo albums.
2- Free Vacation Planning DVD
Free Vacation Planning DVDs are put out by Disney every year, highlighting everything from resorts to attractions to dining, as well as answers to many frequently asked questions for first-time travelers. Since these are free and updated every year, they make an excellent and fun collection to have.
3- Magic Bands
Magic bands are available at no additional cost when you stay at any of the DIsney Resort hotels or if you are a Walt Disney World Passholder. This is probably one of the best free souvenirs, and comes directly to your house in a nice box before you even leave for the parks. They can even be customized specifically to include your name and favorite color.
4- Free Disney Buttons
Stop at any Guest Relations desk and ask for a free button to commemorate a special occasion, such as Birthday, Just Married, Engaged, Anniversary, First Visit or even just Celebrating. Try and collect them all and then put them on display in a shadow box.
5- Disney Photopass Card and Photographers
Disney Photographers are located all around the parks, ready to take your picture in front of some of the most popular backdrops. After they take your picture they will hand you a Photopass card, which allows you to view and order your pictures online. The photographers will even take your picture with your camera, too. This is a great way to get some free pictures without having to bother other guests or trying to line up your “selfie”.
6- Free Hotel Disney Amenities
All Disney Resort hotels offer free hotel amenities such as shampoos, conditioners, and soaps, all with Disney logos. These amenities are H20 products offered at all of the Disney Spas as well. It’s a great way to bring a little bit of your Disney stay home with you for free. Housekeeping Cast Members will restock them for you everyday, too, should you choose to conveniently sneak some in your luggage.
7- Kidcot Funspots
Kidcot stations are available throughout Epcot’s World Showcase in every country. These stations offer fun and unique crafts, such as a cardboard Duffy the Bear sign for kids to color, and then provide different stamps from every country. This is a fun way to try and visit all the countries and collect all the stamps.
8- Passport with Stamps for Food and Wine Festival
During the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot, countries from all around the world set up quick service stations, offering food and beverages native to their culture. Passports stamp booklets are available for free at any of the stations, and can be stamped at every country. It is so much fun to be able to go to each station and get a unique stamp from all around the world.
9- Disney Visa Free 5×7 Character photo
Only available to Disney Visa Card Members, everyday from 1pm-7pm at Epcot’s Innovations West is a private character meet and greet. Disney Photographers will take your photo and then a Cast Member will hand you a slip or voucher for a free 5×7 photo that can be picked up later on at the Camera Center under Spaceship Earth.
10- Stickers
A lot of Cast Members carry stickers with them and will give them out to kids, or even adults, too.
These are a few of my favorite free souvenirs, what are some of yours?
