Tis the season of love, the love of Disney, and the love for another. Disney Parks are one of the most popular places in the world for proposals, and it provides many locations to pop the question to that loved one. Even if you are not getting proposed to, witnessing other proposals really demonstrate that Disney magic. Being a former cast member, I have witnessed and been a part of a handful of proposals, each and every one slightly different from the rest. They key to making that proposal special is getting the Cast Members involved. More often than not, cast members want to make magic for the guests visiting the parks. If you have a plan mention it to a cast member, and they will do their best to enhance or even improve on the magic that you have envisioned.
A very popular place for a proposal to occur is at the Magic Kingdom, especially during Wishes (the nightly fireworks spectacular). Wishes is also a time of a very crowded Main Street, and it may make it difficult to make the moment of a proposal magical. When I was a cast member at the Magic Kingdom, a frequent assignment for me would be the Wishes FastPass+ viewing area, and that is what I think to be the best spot in the Magic Kingdom for a Wishes proposal for many reasons. The first being, the area is secluded and it makes that special moment so much more personal. Second, there are many Cast Members there to help make that moment even more magical, by capturing photos, bringing “Just Engaged” buttons, and maybe even a pair of bride and groom Mickey ears. Sharing your special moment with Cast Members usually can lead to a magical ending.
Some of the most magical proposal spots (in my opinion) are, the Rose Garden at the Magic Kingdom, California Grill at the Contemporary, the beach at the Polynesian Village Resort, and the France Pavilion at Epcot during the Illuminations show.
For this article, I went and got a story from Disney lovers who had their proposal at Disney World at the Magic Kingdom, and it is just so so magical!
Story from Disney Diva fan Alicia:
We got engaged in December of 2014! My family was taking me on a graduation trip and the first morning we went to the Magic Kingdom, we were taking a picture in front of the castle near the Rose Garden when my fiancé walked up and held my hands and said, “This is the place where dreams come true. So will you make my dreams come true?” He got down on one knee, and proposed! I said yes, and the crowd who gathered clapped and cheered! We were spoiled all week with complimentary champagne at restaurants and all the characters were celebrating in all our pictures. We did a portrait session the next day at Epcot with Disney Fine Art Photography and it was such a magical experience! Such a great place to start this next chapter of our lives!
