I am proud to announce, that there is a fun way for your child to interact with Disney characters, and practice their writing skills- by writing their favorite characters a letter!
I did this project with both of my children, as well as my niece. Because she is still young, my daughter dictated the letter for me to write. Obviously older children can write their own letters. For all of you teachers out there, this can be a fun thing to incorporate into your lesson plans while still meeting those pesky standards!
They can write about anything- why they love that particular character so much, what their favorite Disney movie is, how they hope to see them on their next trip to Disneyland or Disney World, or even just talking about themselvesβ¦. how old they are, what school they go to, favorite color, etc. etc. etc. It really is up to them!! The main point is to just have fun and let your child or class enjoy writing a fan letter that they will receive a response to! Disney Diva Tip: This can also be a great activity to help prepare your kids for an upcoming Disney vacation. Not leaving for a couple months, but want to help get them excited? Β Or maybe you just want to give them something to do so theyβre not bouncing off the walls asking is it time to go? Have them write a fan letter! Problem solvedβ¦ at least temporarily. πΒ
Some things to be cautious of however- while Disney says you can write to any character, your postcard will most likely have multiple signatures and the βmain oneβ on the back may not be from the original character you wrote to. For example, my daughter wrote to Donald Duck, and my son wrote to Mickey Mouse. They both received identical postcards of the βFab Fiveβ (Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Pluto) with their signatures on the front. On the back, they were each addressed to my kidsβ first names, and then had the following message, βHi yaβ from your special pals! Your Pal, Mickey Mouse & Palsβ.
My daughter and my niece wrote to the Disney Princesses (Belle and Rapunzel), and again, they received identical postcards with most of the Disney Princesses (Jasmine, Ariel, Tiana, Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Snow White & Rapunzel). This time the back said, βMay All Your Dreams Come True, Love Cinderella and my Royal Friends.” So you can imagine that there might be some confusion if you think youβre writing to Rapunzel, and find out that Cinderella was the one who wrote the message on the back. Β Disney Diva Tip: In this case, it might be best to write to have your child or students write to Mickey or Cinderella, and that way you can avoid the issue all together and the extra signatures are just like a bonus. Plus, for those teachers doing a Cinderella unit, this can also be a fun activity to engage your students.
My favorite part of this activity though is that it is free (minus the postage you pay to send the letter to begin with). Disney pays the postage to send you the postcard, so all you have to do is write your letter, include your mailing address, mail it, and then wait around for your friendly mail carrier to deliver your postcard to your door. Disney Diva Tip: Just make sure the address you have them send it back to is clear. We sent several letters to both locations (Florida and California), and while we received the ones from Florida rather quickly, apparently the people in California couldnβt read my handwriting or read it wrong because they sent it to the wrong address. All of the postcards were lost except one which still magically appeared at our house a few weeks later.
Another great thing about writing fan letters, is that you arenβt limited to only fan letters! Two friends of mine who are getting married this year sent a wedding invitation to Disney and received a postcard with Minnie kissing Mickey and on the back. It said, βCongratulations and Best Wishes! Your Pal, Mickey Mouse, Love and Kissies, Minnie Mouse, XOXOβ. I also have been told you can send birthday invitations and other announcements and receive a postcard. Just make sure you do it early. Disney Diva Tip: Disney recommends sending it 4-6 weeks early, so if you want to give the postcard to someone for a wedding or a birthday, make sure you allow plenty of time for it to arrive.
For the actual addresses to send your letters to, please see below:
Disney World will send you an autographed postcard when you write a letter to the following address:
Walt Disney World Communications
P.O. Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040
Disneyland will send you an autographed postcard when you write a letter to the following address:
Walt Disney Company
Attn: Fan Mail Department
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
If your child really wants a particular autograph, and you happen to know someone going on a trip to Disney soon, you can always ask them to get a character’s autograph. Β Itβs not quite the same, but it can help ensure your child gets a particular autograph.
Also, for those of you who may have done this a while ago, I know they used to send autographed black and white pictures of a particular character, but I have been told they stopped this a long time ago and now they just send postcards. Have any of you tried this before? What were your results? Let us know your experiences in the comments below!! And if you have received postcards from characters other than the princesses and Fab Five, please feel free to share those too!
November 2015 Update: Disney Junior now has a way you can receive a letter from Sofia the First! While they don’t guarantee a response, they are running the program through the end of 2015. We wrote Sofia back in October, and received our letters in November. It took about four weeks for us to receive our letters.
The letters we received from Sofia were addressed individually to each of my children, as well as mentioned their names in the heading (Dear _____,) after that. The messages were identical. The message from Sofia reads, “Dear ___, It was so great to get a letter from you! It means so much to me that you took the time to share a little bit about yourself. I hope we get a chance to meet someday, but until then I hope you’ll join me on my adventures. And remember, wherever your own adventures take you, be brave, be bold and have fun! Thanks again for your amazing letter- it’s been so much fun writing back to you! I’m so glad we’re friends. Love, Sofia”
Both my 4 1/2 year old daughter and 2 1/2 year old son really enjoyed receiving their letters. Because really, who doesn’t love to receive mail, especially from one of your favorite characters? If you haven’t done so yet (and it’s still 2015), I highly recommend doing this with your child or grandchild. There are two options (writing your own letter or doing it on the computer). If you choose to do it on the computer, you have the option of typing out a message, or having Fauna help guide you through the process and offer suggestions on phrases to talk about and stickers to decorate it with. Then you just print off your letter and send it in the mail! You can find more information about it here. The address to write to Sofia is:
Dear Sofia
P.O Box 2520
Grand Rapids, MN 55745
JuneΒ 2015 Update: For those of you who have been waiting for an update, One of our writers spoke to a fellow cast member who said that as far as she understood, the program was still going on. We did attempt to write Lightening McQueen & Mater as well as Anna & Elsa back in March at both locations to see if we would get a response, and so far, we received one autograph from Mickey and Pals with the Fab Five (pictured above) for Lightening McQueen and Mater from the FL location. We have not received anything for my daughter yet at either location. I’m not sure why we haven’t received my daughter’s postcard from FL yet, as they were mailed at the same time, but for now I would say your best bet is to try the FL location (just be prepared for a Mickey and Friends postcard, or possibly a Cinderella one).Β
March 2017 Update: And if you’re looking for something different, one of our writers, Pink Diva, was able to record this message from Mickey. While it doesn’t actually say someone’s name specifically, if you wish to share birthday wishes from Mickey, we hope you enjoy it! Want a chance to win a FREE personalized message from one of your favorite face characters, such as Anna, Elsa, Gaston, Aladdin or Tinkerbell? Click here to find out more about winning a personalized message from your favorite Disney character here!Β
Update March 2017: Our site receives TONS of questions asking whether or not postcards can be receivedΒ internationally. While I could be wrong, my understanding is that this program does NOT exist outside of the United States (though you are certainly more than welcome to try, and if you get a response, please let us know.) However, for those of you who are outside the United States, all hope may not be lost! Β I’ve recently discovered a DisneyΒ e-card program, which I believe can be used anywhere. For more information on sending Disney e-cards, click here.
Best of luck, and let us know if you have any other questions!
i would like a autographed postcard with mickey and friends for my daughter please
Hi Nicole,
There are two addresses you can contact Disney at to request a postcard for your daughter. I have copied them again below, or you can scroll back through the original post above. When writing them, you will want to make sure that you include your daughter’s name (so they know who to address it to) as well as your mailing address (so they know where to send it). I recommend writing both locations (just to double your odds of receiving one, since you never know what may get lost in the mail or delayed), but if you do decide to only write one address, I recommend the Florida location, as all of our postcards have been postmarked from Florida. Let us know if you have any questions! Best of luck! ~Character Diva

How would I go about getting descendants signed pics?? My daughter, in her own today sat down and wrote to evie and I wanted to suprise her!!!
Hi Tosha,
I’m not sure if they do Descendant postcards or not. Disney discontinued the signed pictures several years ago, and while they do mail out postcards, the only ones I can vouch for in existence are the ones mentioned in the article since those are ones we’ve received. You can of course try writing the addresses above and see if they will send you something, but I’m guessing you will receive either a Mickey and Pals postcard or a Cinderella and her royal friends postcard. If you do have any luck getting a postcard from The Descendants characters or a different postcard, we’d love to see pictures of it and hear about it. Good luck! ~Character Diva
I know this isn’t quite the same, but I found a Disney e-card program that may be beneficial to you. You can find out more information about it here: http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2017/01/14/how-to-receive-disney-e-cards-of-some-of-your-favorite-characters/
Do the send the signed post card overseas as I live in the middle east
Hi Arshia, Unfortunately, as far as I know, they do not send them internationally. You can definitely try it though! Best of luck! ~Character Diva

Do you post to the uk?
Hi Abbie, great question! According to British Diva (who also serves on the Disney Moms Panel), she does not believe the program serves the U.K. I know this isnβt quite the same, but I found a Disney e-card program that may be beneficial to you. Are there age limits on this?
Brooke, Nope! π There are no age limits. π You can be a parent writing for your unborn child, or you can be a great-great-grandmother, and obviously any where in between. π They have cut down on the number of characters that respond back, and the only ones I can actually confirm are the ones listed above. (Mickey & Minnie wishing you congratulations on a wedding, engagement, anniversary, etc.), Mickey & Friends, and Cinderella & Friends (though the fronts of the postcards have signatures from the Minnie, Donald, Goofy, etc. and the princesses). Their may be other characters who still send postcards as well, but those are the only ones I’ve seen, so those are the only ones I can confirm. Good luck!! And if you get a response, feel free to tell us all about it so we can share the info with our other readers! π ~ Character Diva
Can you prove it’s not fake?
I’m not sure what evidence you would want besides the pictures of the postcards we’ve received in the article to prove it’s not a fake? Honestly, if those don’t convince you, I’m not sure anything else will. It’s worked for my friends and family, and obviously tons of our readers. We wish you the best of luck in getting your response, but as mentioned before, the only postcards I can vouch for are the ones mentioned and shown in the article. ~Character Diva
My son just turn four he would really love something from mickey mouse a card from and my nieces birthday is right around the corner is the a Web site I can order from
Hi Kaitlyn, Unfortunately, I don’t know of any site where you can order them from. You can write a letter to Mickey and receive a postcard back for him. Depending on when your niece’s birthday is, you may or may not be able to get a postcard in time for her birthday (they tend to take closer to 6-8 weeks). What character(s) were you trying to find for your niece? If you’d like, you’re more than welcome to show the Mickey happy birthday video to your son and say that the message was for him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nxHA9lNwKQ Best wishes! ~Character Diva
Nope! It’s perfect for young children, children at heart!
My niece wants to send a letter to Chip and Dale, would that work?
Danielle, to be honest, I’m not quite sure. The only ones I can guarantee for sure are the ones I’ve seen (which is Cinderella and Friends if you write any of the princesses, though it’s possible with how popular Frozen is, maybe Anna and Elsa would have a postcard by now?) Mickey and Minnie for engagements/anniversaries/etc., and Mickey and friends (for the Fab 5). It is possible you might get a response from Chip and Dale, or they may just count them in the Mickey and Friends. So while unfortunately, I can’t give you a great answer, if you do get a response from them (or another character than the ones listed above), we would love to see or hear about it! I know someone on another site commented that they received one from Mater from Cars, but as I’ve never seen pictures of it, nor have I received one myself, I can’t confirm the validity of that either. Good luck! I hope Chip and Dale get back to your niece! π ~ Character Diva
Can i get from buzz
Mehtab, that is a great question, but unfortunately, I am not sure. We did not attempt to write Buzz, so I cannot say for sure one way or the other. I am assuming that you could, seeing that he is a very popular character, so I’m sure they would have a Toy Story postcard, but again, as I have never tried it, nor have I ever seen one, I cannot guarantee anything. It is always worth a shot though… you also may try to find a number to call Walt Disney World Communications or the Fan Mail Department and see if they could give you a better listing of what characters are available? And if you do receive a postcard from Buzz, we’d love it if you let us know or shared pictures so we can inform the other readers. Good luck! π ~Character Diva
How customizable can these get? I’m thinking of writing a letter requesting postcards for my nephews to surprise them with a trip to the world. (Trip not even scheduled yet, so we have plenty of time… just curious about limitations of content in the reply.)
Hi Teri,
I apologize for not getting back to you sooner! Somehow I missed the comments on this thread. Anyway, I’m not sure if it’s too late or not (Sorry if it is), but my child’s name was on the back of the postcard along with our address. So say if your nephew’s name was Johnny, it’d say “Johnny, 123 Main St. Sometown, CA 12345” for the address (or whatever your address really is). The rest is pretty standard since it’s just the postcard, but if you write the letter as coming from your nephews, then they’d address it to them. Hope that helps! ~Character Diva
What about Peter Pan?
Hi Morgan, I apologize for the late reply. Somehow I missed the notifications on this thread. I’m not sure about Peter Pan, the only ones I can confirm are the ones mentioned in the article. However it is always worth a shot, so by all means, try it if you haven’t already. Good luck! π ~Character Diva
I agree. I would absolutely love one from Peter Pan but I don’t know if he does it : (
Agreed Jelisse! It would be great if they had options for all of the Disney characters. Always worth a shot though! π Good luck, and if you receive a response, let us know! π ~Character Diva
which location do you put, or do you put both?:) great idea!
Hi Jillian, I used both of the addresses listed above. However, for whatever reason, I got a response back from Disney World much quicker than from Disneyland. Also, make sure your address is listed clearly, because for whatever reason, Disneyland butchered my mailing address and out of the 7 or 8 we were expecting (I had mailed some as gifts for friends and family) we only got one back and the address was wrong. But again, the addresses are:
Walt Disney World Communications
P.O. Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040
Disneyland will send you an autographed postcard when you write a letter to the following address:
Walt Disney Company
Attn: Fan Mail Department
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
Good luck! ~Character Diva
When is the last time you know that someone received a postcard? My granddaughter sent a letter 6 weeks ago and still not reply.
Hi Barry,
The most recent recipient of the postcards was our friends’ wedding one… which they received in the spring of 2014. As mentioned in the article, my family sent postcards to both Disney World and Disneyland. Disney World replied much quicker than Disneyland. On top of that, I had sent some for additional friends and family members, and while I received all of the ones I sent to Disney World, we only received one for Disneyland, and they had printed our address incorrectly. I’m not sure if they got lost in the mail, couldn’t read my handwriting or what, but we never received the additional cards from Disneyland. Hopefully your granddaughter received hers by now, but if not, you may try sending it again. Also, if you only sent one to Disneyland, you may wish to try Disney World since I had better luck with them. Good luck! ~Character Diva
Hi:-) I’m from Singapore and I’m wondering if they will actually send it this far and is it still going on?
Hi Jamie,
As far as I know it is still going on, (I know as of 2014 it was) but as far as sending it internationally, I am not sure. Sorry! It’s always worth a shot though, though I’m guessing it would take longer than the 4-6 weeks turnaround. You can always try finding a phone number or email and contacting them directly to doublecheck. Otherwise, I’d probably just try it, unless postage is really expensive. Good luck! I hope it works out! And let us know if you get one. ~Character Diva
Hi, is it still running in 2015
As far as I know it is. I haven’t tried it recently, but I’m planning on having my kids write Anna & Elsa and Lightening McQueen & Mater in the next few weeks to see if we get a response, and if so, from whom. I always recommend writing both Disneyland and Disney World as well, just in case something gets lost in the mail or you have issues like we did in the past when writing Disneyland. Good luck! ~Character Diva
I was just wondering if you ever found out if they are still doing these.
Hi Hannah, we sent letters off to Anna and Elsa, as well as Lightening McQueen and Mater a couple of weeks ago to see if we’d hear a response (and if so, from whom). We haven’t heard back yet, but we’re still in the “waiting period” of turnaround mail. Also, we sent them to both Disneyland and Disney World… we’ll see if we get a response from either (and who is quicker). We’ll keep you posted! ~Character Diva
Hi, I’m 13 and I REALLY want a autograph from Peter pan he is like my hero lol I sound like a baby! But it’s this still going on do you know if it will work for peter pan? Thanks so much!!!!!!!!! <333
Hi Liz, Unfortunately I haven’t tried writing Peter Pan, so I’m not sure, but seeing as he is so popular and a couple people have asked, I’ll try it out and see if I get a response. In the meantime, I suggest trying it yourself… that way you’ll get a quicker response. π I hope you hear back from him! Let us know if you do, and I’ll keep you all posted if we find out anything! ~Character Diva
Have you heard back from Anna or Elsa?
Not yet I’m afraid, but as soon as we do one way or the other, we’ll let you all know! π ~Character Diva
Hi there, are they still doing this? I am a rainbow guide leader and I’m thinking of doing this with them but don’t want to disappoint! I saw on another site that they weren’t sure if they were still doing it so do you know? π
Hi Rachel, I haven’t heard back yet, but hopefully I will soon! We’ll keep you posted. Good luck! ~Character Diva
We tried this a couple of times to both addresses over one year ago, and no response from any character.
My daughter received her postcard from Cinderella today. It took exactly four months for our letter to travel from Canada to Disney World and for the princesses to write back.
That’s wonderful Nancy! Thank you so much for sharing with us! I’m glad to know that it worked out for you. ~Character Diva
Both my girls were so excited this week!.They both got their post cards! It was alot of fun writing the letters and waiting for the postcard to come! Their faces was well worth the wait! We are from West Virginia and it took a little while for us to receive our postcard π
Glad to hear it worked out Brittany! π I’m so glad your girls enjoyed it. Thanks for the update! ~ Character Diva
HI this sounds really cool. I would like to send a letter to Meg from Hercules or maybe even hercules but I don’t want the disappointment of not getting anything back because they are not “popular” characters and i won’t really ever get to actually go to Disney so this would be a great chance for me to get something from my favourite character thx anyway
Hi Tea,
Unfortunately, that is the downside of the “rarer” characters. Even finding them around the parks can be tricky at times. If we hear of a way to contact Hercules or Meg, we’ll let you know. Thanks for reading! ~Character Diva
Me and my mother are going try it today! I’Im hoping for a response from Sophia the first! Were doing this as a summer fun idea .
That’s wonderful Brooke! We just received our response after we wrote to Anna & Elsa. We ended up just receiving a postcard from Cinderella and Friends (the postcard pictured in the article). If you want to try, I suggest writing the FL address. We wrote both the CA and FL addresses, but haven’t heard back from the CA address yet. We did have luck with the FL address, but as I said, we received a generic princess one when we wrote Anna & Elsa, and a Mickey and Friends one when we wrote Lightening McQueen & Mater. Good luck! Let us know if you hear from Sofia the First! π
Where do you put what character you want the postcard to be autographed by? Is it just by the people that you direct your letter to?
I put the names in the beginning of the letter (like Dear Mickey) and then if you want to add it again (just in case) you can add something like “I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon, Mickey!” Let me know if you have any more questions! Best wishes! ~Character Diva
This is so cool!!!! I know these comments are from a few years ago, and now it is 2018. I really want so send one to Belle and Crush from βFinding Nemo!β Are they still doing this?
I heard on pintrest that you receive a signed picture. Is that true or do you just get a postcard?
Hi Skyler,
Great question. Disney used to send out signed pictures, but now only does the autographed postcards (and the signatures are already printed on the card, they aren’t signed with a pen). Also, the postcards come with the person’s first name printed on the back and then their address (so nothing is hand-written). We have received both the Disney Princess and the Mickey and Friends postcards posted above (ours actually arrived just last week). Friends of mine received the postcard with Mickey and Minnie a little over a year ago after they sent in a wedding announcement, but I’m sure they are still doing that as well. These are the only three postcards I know to exist. If you write a Disney princess (including Anna or Elsa), you will receive the princess and friends one. If you write to any other character, you’ll receive the Mickey and friends postcard. And as mentioned in other comments, I’ve had success using the Florida address, but horrible luck with the California one, so if you’re only going to send it to one location, I suggest the Florida one. Good luck and thanks for reading! ~Character Diva
Is there Kermit I wrote to him I did not get a response yet…….
Hi Nick, As far as I know, the only postcards are the ones pictured in the article. I’m guessing if you do get a response, it will be a “Mickey and Friends” one. If you get something other than the Mickey and Friends, we’d love to see pictures of it. Also, if you haven’t tried the Disney World address, you may want to try that one. I’ve had better luck with getting a response from them. Good luck! ~Character Diva
It would likely be proper to send a letter to Buzz Lightyear at Disneyland (since that is where I had a photograph taken of him and I together, almost a decade ago).
Two questions:
One – to increase my chances of getting a response, should I just mail to Disney World instead of Disneyland? I don’t want to risk not getting a response because of my next question.
Two – If I sent in a photograph of Buzz Lightyear and I together, could I get a signature from him on the photo, instead of the whole Toy Story gang? Would I be able to do that?
Thanks!
Hi Bryce,
I apologize for the delayed response, I’ve been on vacation. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to your question. I’m assuming if you wrote to Buzz Lightyear, you would get a response from Mickey and friends. And yes, from my own experience, you’re more likely to get a response from the Disney World location as opposed to the Disneyland location. As for your second question, this could definitely be done if it was given to a cast member, you would just have to get it to the parks. You may wish to try contacting the theme parks directly over the phone and asking if they could arrange it with a cast member. Otherwise, if you know of anyone who is traveling to Disneyland or Disney World any time soon, you could send a copy of the photograph with them and they could have it done for you as well. Let us know if you need any more help. Good luck and Best wishes! ~Character Diva
Is there a specific phone number for the fan mail department?
I’m not sure of a specific phone number for the fan mail department, but this is the number for the Disney World Resort. They could probably transfer you or give you a number to call. Their number is: (407) 939-5277. They recommend people call between 2pm-7pm EST (though I believe they begin taking calls as early as 7am, you’ll just be more likely to get through if you call in the afternoon).
If you live in florida will it take less time for the postcards to arrive
Hi I’m a granny and live in South Africa and would love to get a post card for my grand daughter. Do you think they would post it as far as SA?
That is a great question Michele, but unfortunately, I don’t know the answer. If you decide to try it, let us know if you have any results (or not). Best of luck! ~Character Diva
I helped my grand kids write to Princess Tiana and to Stitch, back in June and still no response. They keep asking me if they got anything back from their characters yet. π I keep telling them, “Not yet, hopefully soon.” I don’t know how much longer I can hold them off without breaking their hearts. I thought it was going to be something fun for them to do, but now it’s just torture for me every time they ask me where their letters are.
I’m sorry to hear that Jessica, I can imagine how disappointing that must be. Hopefully they get a response soon! π Did you send it to the Disney World or Disneyland address? When we did it a few months ago, we never received a response from Disneyland, but we did get responses from Disney World (though my son who wrote to Lightening McQueen and Mater got Mickey and Friends, and my daughter received her Cinderella and friends a couple days later). But I understand how frustrating that would be. Disney can take awhile sometimes. I hope you get them soon! Good luck!! ~Character Diva
I wrote letter to Alice and Ariel. I received a postcard of Disney Princesses and the Fab Five. I sent the letter back mid-June and finally today received the second postcard.
Thank you so much for letting us know Sid! We appreciate the update and the feedback. I’m glad your postcards arrived. π Hopefully some day they will add more characters to the list of ones you can get a response from! Alice is one of my favorites too! ~Character Diva
Hey I was wondering if they sent get well soon postcards like they sent the congratulations postcard my sister is getting surgery in a few months and she would love a postcard from the princesses.
Hi Jessica,
That is a great question! Honestly, I don’t know, but you could definitely try! And if you do find out, please let us know. Some other options you may want to try would be a one-time Mickey Monthly box. I know they’re kind of expensive, but when you compare it to sending flowers or something, it’s pretty comparable, and personally, I’d rather have Disney goodies than flowers. Just a thought! You can read our review about it here: http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2015/06/08/mickey-monthly-makes-your-month-magical/ Good luck! ~Character Diva
Can I get one from Boo?(Monsters inc)
Hi Angelina, that is a great question! To be honest, I’m not sure. The only ones I know for sure are the ones listed above in the article. Other people have said that when they’ve written other characters such as Alice (or in our case when we wrote Lightening McQueen or Mater), they’ve received the Mickey and Pals postcard, which is what I’m sure you’ll get. I know when my daughter wrote to Anna & Elsa, we received a postcard from Cinderella and friends (but Anna & Elsa weren’t on it). Let us know if you do hear from Boo, or another character, but I’m guessing it’ll be a Mickey and friends reply. Best of luck!! ~Character Diva
Has anyone tried Tinkerbell ? And how long does it typically take?
Hi Melinda,
No one has gotten back to us saying that they tried Tinkerbell. I’m guessing if you wrote her, you’d get a response from Mickey and Friends. Though if you do get a response, we’d love to hear about it as well as if it came from Tinkerbell or another character. It is supposed to take 4-6 weeks, but honestly, most people are getting responses in 6-8. Best of luck!! ~Character Diva
Hello,
I need 3 Elsa, Zarina, Tinker Bell and Periwinkle. And about how long does it take? Would love to have in time for Christmas.
Aunt and Grandmother
Cindy
Hi Cindy,
Unfortunately, when we wrote Anna & Elsa, we received a generic princess postcard featuring Cinderella and her royal friends (Anna and Elsa were not included). I’m not sure about Tinkerbell and the other fairies. The only postcards I know of are the ones pictured above in the article of Mickey & Minnie (generally given if you mail them engagement or wedding announcements, as well as for anniversaries), the Mickey and Pals (with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie & Pluto) and the Cinderella and Her Royal Friends (featuring Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Ariel, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Tiana and Snow White.) Those postcards are expected to arrive in 4-6 weeks, but some people are finding it takes closer to 6-8 weeks. You should be fine, but I would do them as soon as possible. Also, Disney Junior is doing a promotion through the end of the year where you can write Sofia the First and get a response from her. All of the addresses are listed in the article, however, I suggest writing to either Sofia the First or if you decide to write to the other characters, I would send it to the Florida address. All of the responses we’ve received back have been postmarked from FL, so I think you will have a faster response if you send it to the Orlando address. Best of luck and let us know if you need anything!
Hey do they fairies (Tinkerbell, Silvermist, Iridessa etc.) Do a postcard??
That’s a great question. I’m not sure if the fairies have a designated postcard; I’ve only seen the ones mentioned in the article. We do get lots of questions about Tinkerbell, so I will definitely write her soon and see what the response is. If you try it, please let us know your response! Best of luck! ~Character Diva
This is great for my kids.
So glad you enjoyed it! π
Tinkerbell, surely must be one of the characters you can get a postcard from. She is a Disney icon. Right??
Hi Bonnie, You would think so, but I haven’t heard of anyone receiving a postcard from her. And honestly, will all the hype around Anna & Elsa these last couple of years, if they don’t have a postcard, I’d be surprised if Tinkerbell does. But it’s always worth a shot! Let us know who you get a response from! We’d love to hear. π Thanks for reading and best of luck! ~Character Diva
Hi Lindsey, The postcard from Minnie Mouse will have Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto on it, with all of their signatures on the front and signed Mickey and Pals on the back. If you are planning on getting that postcard, I would do it as quickly as possible since it does take time to arrive. I’d also probably send letters off to both addresses (the CA and FL ones) to double your chances of getting a timely response. As for Sofia, we wrote her, but haven’t gotten a response back yet, so I’m not quite sure what they will send. But the Letters to Sofia Program is through December 31st, so I would do that one as well (you can even click on stuff to go in the letter and then just print it out. It takes less than five minutes.) Good luck and we hope your daughter has a wonderful birthday! ~Character Diva
My cousin is three and do u think Elsa would respond back to her
When we wrote Anna & Elsa, we received a generic princess card signed Cinderella and her royal friends. You could try it since that was as almost a year ago and they may have added additional postcards since then, but I can’t guarantee anything. The only cards I know of are from Cinderella and her royal friends with a picture of Aurora, Snow White, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Tiana, Belle & Ariel, one of Mickey and Minnie (used for anniversaries or weddings), and one of Mickey and Pals with a picture of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto (used for most characters). You can also write Sofia the First (this promotion ends December 31st so I recommend doing it sooner than later) and she will write you back at the Minnesota address listed in the article. Hope this helps! Let us know if you need anything else. ~Character Diva
Can I send multiple letters in a big Manila envelope with one address and get them all sent back to me without an address on them or should I send them separately?
You can send multiple letters in one envelope (for example if you were a teacher mailing them for your class), but you would only receive one postcard back. If you want multiple postcards, it’s best to mail them individually (and from my experience, the FL address works best). Good luck! ~Character Diva
Will this be time-limited? Will it end in 2016?
As far as we know, only the Sofia the First promotion is ending. (That promotion ends December 31, 2015, so you still have a couple weeks to submit letters.) The other options (Cinderella and her Royal Friends, Mickey and Pals and the one of Mickey and Minnie for engagements/anniversaries, etc.) should still be available. Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Hello. I wrote sometime in April-May for my baby brother. Within 5-6 weeks we got a postcard in the mail from mickey. He has loved it!
Thanks for letting us know your results! We’re glad your brother enjoyed it. π ~Character Diva
i live in england and don’t have money to buy stamps can i email them instead and is it possible to write to stitch.
Hi Faith, That’s a great question. I don’t know of any email programs to write characters. Sorry! Also, the only postcards I know of were the ones mentioned in the article, so while it is possible to get a postcard from Stitch, I’m guessing you would actually receive the one of the fab 5 characters signed Mickey and Pals. Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions or if there’s anything else we can help with! ~Character Diva
Hi there, I would like to do letter writing with my class and writing to their favourite character seems like an awesome idea. However we are from Trinidad, would we get a response if the kids write?
Thanks!
Hi Naomi, That is a great question! Unfortunately, I don’t know if Disney ships postcards to international locations, and even if they did, I’m not sure what kind of time frame you would be looking at. Can you email us at tipsfromthedisneydiva@gmail.com? I think I have a possible solution for you that might work. π Thank you so much for contacting us! Best wishes! ~Character Diva
Hi Kelly,
That is a great question, and unfortunately, I don’t know. The only postcards I know that are currently available are the Mickey and Pals, the Cinderella and her royal friends, and the Mickey and Minnie card they send out for anniversaries and so on. While you can definitely try to write Nemo (and if you get a response please let us know), my personal guess is that if you wrote Nemo, you would receive the Mickey and cards postcard. Best wishes and let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help! ~Character Diva
Hi, guys so was running threw some of the comments and noticed alot of people asking how recently someone had done this so i thought id just share my 3yr old son wrote/drew a picture for donald duck and sent it out the end of february 2016 and recieved his postcard from mickey mouse & pals today (3-10-16) and i just thought it was nice because tho it was marked from mickey mouse & pals where donald signed “his name” it says “Donald Duck #1”. My son was really happy to recieve it and is eager to write others.
Awww, that’s so sweet! I’m glad he had such a positive experience. I hope he enjoys getting other postcards and thanks for the update! ~Character Diva
hi my son just turned 4 yesterday and love lighting mcqueen and matter do you know if they have got a cars post card i would hate to write lighting and matter and get mickey and friends he would not be happy ( even tho he loves them ) but he is autism and would not like if he wrote ligting and got mickey just would like to know cause if not ill just have him write mickey thank for any info u have
Hi Brittney, When we wrote to Lightening McQueen and Mater last year, we just received the Mickey and Friends postcard. They may have updated it (we wrote ours about 10 months ago), but I’m guessing you will still receive the Mickey one. It may be best to just write Mickey. You could always buy a card from Lightening McQueen and take a toy car and some black ink and roll the car’s tires over the ink and then roll the car over a card, book or some other form of paper and write the word Lightening McQueen and say that was his autograph. I don’t know if that helps or not. Best wishes, and we hope your son had a great birthday! ~Character Diva
So we can write to any Disney character we want (including Disney Junior)?
Hi Isaiah, technically yes, you can write to any Disney character, but no, you won’t get a response from every character. Depending on who you write to, you may or may not get the character you want. It will most likely be a response from Mickey and Pals (with Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie & Pluto’s autographs on the front and Mickey’s on the back), or it will be a postcard from Cinderella and her royal friends (Cinderella’s autograph on the back, and Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel, Belle, Tiana Snow White & Rapunzel on the front). If you write about a wedding or anniversary, you will most likely receive one from Mickey and Minnie. So if you want to write characters from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, as long as it’s one of the fab 5, you’ll be fine (especially if it’s Mickey). If you were hoping to write Chip and Dale or characters like Jake or Doc McStuffins, probably not. I’m assuming if you wrote Sofia the First, you’d receive the princess postcard, but Sofia wouldn’t be featured. You used to be able to write Sofia directly and receive a letter from Sofia, but unfortunately, that program was discontinued at the end of December. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions! ~Character Diva
Well, I was thinking about writing to Sofia the First, but the Dear Sofia thing is over. So I’m thinking about writing to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with The Fab 5.
Yes, in that case, if you write the Fab 5, you should receive the Mickey and Friends postcard. I recommend either sending your letter to both addresses or using the Florida address… all of the postcards we’ve received have been postmarked from Florida, so I think that has a quicker response time. Best of luck!
Both addresses?
Yes. In the article I mention two addresses you can send copies of your letter to… one in Florida and one in California. (I recommend both, but if you only want to send a letter to one, I’d pick Florida.) For your convenience, I’m copying and pasting the information:
Disney World will send you an autographed postcard when you write a letter to the following address:
Walt Disney World Communications
P.O. Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040
Disneyland will send you an autographed postcard when you write a letter to the following address:
Walt Disney Company
Attn: Fan Mail Department
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
I’d pick Florida but I’ll have to wait 3 months to receive my letter
Where are you sending the postcard to? As long as you’re sending it to an address in the United States, you should be fine. There’s generally a wait to receive the postcards (I’d say close to 6-8 weeks and if you get it before that, it’s a nice surprise). I haven’t heard of anyone outside the United States receiving postcards, so I don’t know if they’ll send them internationally or not.
I’ll send the postcard to Florida
Sorry, I meant where are you requesting the Disney postcard be sent? As long as it’s to an address in the U.S., once you mail your letter, you should receive a response (hopefully) within 6-8 weeks.
Walt Disney World
And you are having the postcard from Walt Disney’s World’s Florida address sent to an address in the United States correct?
I have the address for Walt Disney World in Florida
Yes, I know. Once you mail your postcard to the Disney World address in Florida, they will send their response back to you. That was the address I was referring to. It shouldn’t take you 3 months if you are sending it to an address in the United States. It should only take 6-8 weeks once you mail your letter. If you are trying to send a letter and get Disney World to send you a response to an international address, you may or may not get a response. I haven’t heard either way if Disney will send postcards outside the United States.
Okay. If I mail my letter in the US, I’ll wait 6-8 weeks
Yes. That is the estimated time. It may be earlier, it may be later, but most mail will arrive in 6-8 weeks. I also recommend typing out your return address so it’s more legible. We had an issue with that in the past.
Typing out my return address?
When you write your letter to the Fab Five, I recommend typing it out instead of writing it by hand. This will insure that everything looks neat and once they receive it, they will clearly be able to see which character(s) you would like a postcard from, as well as which address they should send the postcard to.
Write by hand like with a pen/pencil, right?
Yes.
Okay. Have you wrote a letter to a Disney character before?
Yes. All of the details are in the article. http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2014/06/17/how-to-receive-autographed-postcards-from-your-favorite-disney-characters/
Wow. I can’t wait to get a postcard from The Fab 5
I hope you enjoy it!
Hey, quick question. How do I put the address like: name, address, zip code?
Yes. So you would say something “Like, I would really love to get a postcard from the Fab Five. Please send it to:
John Doe
123 Main St.
Mytown, CA 12345”
Okay. Attn: The Fab 5, Walt Disney World Communications, PO Box 10040, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040
That will work. π
Hey, Character Diva. I want to write to the Disney Princesses but are they called the Royal Friends?
Hi Isaiah, You can either address one princess, all of the princesses, or Cinderella and her Royal Friends. My experience has been no matter what princess you pick (for example Belle), you will receive the Cinderella and her Royal Friends postcard with Ariel, Jasmine, Snow White, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Aurora, Tiana and Belle on it. If you want to be extra safe, you could just address it to Cinderella or Cinderella and her Royal Friends, but really any of the princesses listed above should be fine. Good luck and best wishes! ~Character Diva
I want to write to them all.
That’s fine, you’re going to receive a postcard with all of their signatures regardless of who you address it to. So it really doesn’t matter which character (or characters) you name. If you have a princess name on your letter, you will receive the princess postcard. Enjoy! ~Character Diva
Hi Character Diva! I just discovered this little trick about 20 mins ago and I have a couple of questions…
– Is it written with pen or just printed?
– Is there an age limit?
– If I asked for a personalised touch (such as a heart in the corner or the words ‘Love the Disney Clan’) do you think they would give it to me?
Thanks so much for your time, Olivia
Hi Olivia,
TO answer your questions… No, unfortunately it is not written in pen, it is just printed. There is not an age limit, so anyone (including yourself) can request a postcard, and lastly, because the cards are printed in advance, unfortunately, I don’t think they will add a heart or something to that sort. But the pictures in the article will show you how the characters names are customized (for example, Ariel has bubbles by her name on the princess postcard), so hopefully that will still add a little bit of Disney magic. Let us know if you have any more questions or if there’s anything else we can help with! Best wishes! ~Character Diva
Are they still doing this?
Yes. π You can receive postcards from Mickey & Pals or Cinderella and her Royal Friends, and I believe the Mickey and Minnie postcard as well. Others may exist, but I’m not positive as those are the only ones I’ve seen. The Sofia the First promotion they did last year however is over, so you can no longer receive letters from Sofia. Let us know if you have any more questions! Best wishes and good luck! ~Character Diva
Will Lightning McQueen respond to my 2 boys in Central Australia, please?
Hi Steve, unfortunately, I haven’t heard of anyone receiving a postcard internationally (though it’s definitely worth a shot). Also, when we wrote Lightening McQueen, we received a postcard from Mickey and Pals, with a picture of the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto). It is possible that they have added one since then, but I really don’t think it will work. If you do decide to try it, we’d love to hear your results. Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Hi Amelia,
That is a great question! Unfortunately, I have never tried to write to a Star Wars character, so I’m not sure what response you would get. If you decide to do it and get a response (from Princess Leia or another character), we would love to hear about it! Good luck and thanks for reading!
Character Diva
one of My friend likes to write a letter to cinderella, do you know a specific address or can i tell him to send the letter to this address:
Walt Disney Company
Attn: Fan Mail Department
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
Yes, that address will work. π You may wish to have him write to both addresses, as all of the postcards we’ve received have been postmarked from FL. He might end up with two postcards, but I figure I’d rather write to both and get two responses than have to wait a really long time or have it get lost in the mail and not receive one at all. But yes, if he addresses the letter with the address you listed above, it will get to the right place. Best wishes! ~Character Diva
Do you know if they can be sent international???
Hi Logan, As far as I know, they can only be sent within the United States. If you would like to try it, you certainly can (and please let us know if you get a response), but as far as I know, they do not ship internationally. What country are you trying to send a letter to (Canada for example, may have a better chance of getting a response than say Australia), and is there a particular character you are trying to get a response from? Best wishes, Character Diva
Hi, Character Diva. It’s me Isaiah again. I sended a letter to The Fab 5 like in May or June and I’ve been waiting for weeks for it to come. Do you Disney have read the letter and write back first before it can come to me?
Hi Isaiah, I don’t actually work for Disney (this is just a fansite), so I don’t know how it all works specifically, but yes, I would assume that in order to receive a response, they would have to receive your letter and read it because else they wouldn’t know who to respond to or where to send it. I hope it arrives soon!
I sent a letter to Tinkerbell and I got a response from Cinderella and her royal friends. It took 8 and a half weeks to receive the post card.I only sent it to the one in Florida.
Thanks for the information Cecilia!
Do I have to use a regular envelope? Because I have those thank-you cards and I though they were perfect for this situation.
As far as I know, any envelope is fine. π I’ve even known people to send postcards of their graduation/wedding announcement… I think the main thing is just including a return address. Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Thanks!
Any time! Let us know if you need any more help!
Do I have to use a postage stamp to mail the letter?
Hey, guess what? I just got my Fab 5 postcard in the mail today!
You’ll need to use some kind of stamp to mail your initial letter, you don’t need to pay for return postage. So if you send a thank you card sized letter, a normal forever stamp will work, and Disney will pay the postage for your postcard. ~Character Diva
Congratulations! So happy for you! ~Character Diva
Hi my Daughters name is Abbey and she sent 2 letters about 2 months ago i was just wondering how long it takes to receive the pictures back also we are in Australia does that matter thanks
I am so sorry that i posted so many times i thought it wasn’t working then i realised it was
That’s okay. π It happens. π
Hi Rebecca, Unfortunately, I am not aware of whether or not the postcards are sent internationally. Which character(s) did your daughter Abbey write to? We might have an alternative solution for your family. And if you do receive a postcard at some point, please let us know so we can share the information with our international readers. Thanks for following! ~Character Diva
Hi character diva thanks for getting back to me Abbey wrote to Mickey and Minnie mouse and Anna and Elsa and so far nothing yet thanks for the help Γ’ΛΒΊΓ’ΛΒΊΓ’ΛΒΊ
Sorry i did it again ????????????
My daughter and nephew jist recieves theirs we wrote in May!
That’s okay, it happens. I’m not sure how old your daughter is, but we do have a couple of videos (one from Anna and Elsa to a girl named Abigail celebrating her 4th birthday and a generic one from the talking Mickey Mouse wishing a happy birthday… you can see that one in the article). I’m not sure when your daughter’s birthday is or how old she will be turning, but if you don’t mind her being referred to as Abigail, we can email you those videos for your daughter. If they won’t work, let me know, and we may be able to get a custom video message from Anna and/Elsa instead.
Those are not for my Daughter her name is just Abbey not Abigail and we were just looking for pictures but what ever you could do for Abbey she would be very thankfull for hope to hear from you soon have a great day and thanks again for your help
Hi Rebecca, I emailed you some photographs to the email you had listed under the comments. Hopefully they will help you out. They should arrive from Tipsfromthe DisneyDiva. If they haven’t arrived, check your spam folder. Feel free to print them off and give them to Abbey. If you need anything else, let us know. Best wishes!
Can Cruella be used?
Hi Kristine,
That’s a great question! I’ve never tried emailing a villain, so I’m not sure if it’s possible or not. The only ones I can vouch for are the postcards mentioned in the article. My guess is you would get one from Mickey and Pals. If you do decide to write them though and get a response, please let us know either way! Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Hi, I was wondering if this would work if you wrote from the UK? thanks for your help!
Unfortunately, I don’t believe so. While it is possible, I haven’t heard of anyone receiving a postcard internationally. What character(s) were you trying to get a response from?
I live in the UK,can i still write &, receive a postcard?
Hi Crystal, To be honest, I’m not sure. I’ve never heard of anyone receiving one internationally, but you never know. What character were you trying to receive a postcard from?
Do you know if Lilo and stitch send anything although I am 20 I’m disney mad and love lilo and stitch?
I know this isn’t quite the same, but I found a Disney e-card program that may be beneficial to you. You can find out more information about it here: http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2017/01/14/how-to-receive-disney-e-cards-of-some-of-your-favorite-characters/
Hi Emily! That is a great question. Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer for Lilo or Stitch. The only postcards I can confirm that exist are the ones posted in the article. My guess is that you would get a Mickey and Pals card if you tried to write Lilo or Stitch, but it’s always worth a shot! If you do decide to test it out, please let us know what response you receive… and if you do get a Lilo and Stitch postcard, we’d love to see it! I don’t know if you’re planning a trip to Disney anytime soon, but California Adventure in Disneyland has a Disney VISA Meet and Greet where you can find Stitch, Minnie, or Daisy (you can check with a castmember to find out when Stitch will be around), and Disney World has a character breakfast at Ohana’s with Lilo and Stitch. Best of luck!
Hello, THANK YOU so much for your advice! I thought when they stopped the black and white photos, you couldn’t get anything else. I sent a bunch out for friends and family…and yes, for me too : ) I will keep you updated. Btw, your patience with commenters is respectable ; )
Oh good! I’m so glad. I hope your family and friends (and yourself) enjoy receiving the postcards as much as we have! We look forward to your update! And thank you… we try to be as helpful and courteous to everyone as possible. π ~Character Diva
Can I ask, does ‘Ariel the little mermaid’ send out postcards?
If you write Ariel, you will receive a postcard with Ariel on it (and her signature), along with Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Aurora, Belle, and Jasmine (you can see photos of it in the article). However, the back will be signed, “Cinderella and her Royal Friends”. So yes, you can get a postcard with Ariel and her signature, but I have never seen one of just Ariel or that was signed “Ariel and friends” on the back. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions! ~Character Diva

Can you write to Moana?
Hi, That is a great question! I haven’t tried writing Moana yet, so I’m not sure if they have an official postcard for her or if you would receive the Mickey and Pals or Cinderella and her Royal Friends postcard instead. Sorry for not being more helpful! If you do try to write Moana, please let us know what postcard you receive so that way we can update our readers! Best of luck! ~Character Diva

Hi, is there an email address to send a msg and get an email back from a character?
Hi Laura, That is a great question! I’ve only tried the postcards, however one of our writers who is also on the Disney Moms Panel recommended this by Hallmark. https://www.hallmarkecards.com/ecards/collections/disney You can make an e-card for a special event and personalize it as well. Hopefully this will help! Best wishes and good luck! ~Character Diva

I just have to tell you I think you’re so amazingly patient and sweet, you’ve answered the same questions at least a hundred times. π
Going to try to help my 3 year old write a letter soon. Thanks for your info!
Thank you, I try. π Good luck with your postcard, and let us know if you have any more questions! Best wishes! ~Character Diva

Can I write to the villains? I know it sounds strange but my lil girl seems to like the bad guys lol.
That is a great question! My niece was actually the same way and went through an Ursula and Cruella de Vil phase! Unfortunately, as far as I know, you can only receive postcards from Mickey and Pals (with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie & Pluto) or Cinderella and her Royal Pals (Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Tiana, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Snow White, & Aurora). There’s also a postcard of Mickey and Minnie mentioned in the article, but that seems to be sent out more for anniversaries/weddings/etc. My guess is that if you tried to write the villains, you would receive a Mickey and Pals postcard, which I know isn’t quite the same. Is there a particular villain she is interested in writing? We might have a couple alternative ideas for you. If you do decide to take your chances and write the villains, please let us know what the response is so we can update our readers. I’ve never tried to write them before, so your guess is as good as mine. Good luck and best wishes! ~Character Diva

Is this still going on? Are children able to write to Anna and Elsa? Did you ever receive a response from them?
Hi Jessica, Yes, this is still going on, but unfortunately, as far as I know, Anna and Elsa do not send postcards. We tried it about a year or two ago, and I believed we received a normal princess postcard. So you will receive a response, but not necessarily Anna or Elsa. It has been awhile since we’ve tried it though, and they are very popular, so you might still be able to get a response, but I can’t guarantee it. If you do decide to write them and hear back from them, please let us know as well as send us a picture of what it looks like so we can show our other readers. Best of luck! ~Character Diva

Do you know if it works for the UK? We are getting married the end of this year and would be lovely to have a card from Micky and minnie
Hi Anna, according to British Diva (who also serves on the Disney Moms Panel), she does not believe the program serves the U.K. I know this isnβt quite the same, but I found a Disney e-card program that may be beneficial to you. You can find out more information about it here: http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2017/01/14/how-to-receive-disney-e-cards-of-some-of-your-favorite-characters/ If that doesn’t work for you, please send us an email at tipsfromthedisneydiva@gmail.com and we might be able to come up with another idea to help make your day memorable. Best of luck! And if you do decide to try the postcard program and get a response, please let us know. Best wishes and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! ~Character Diva
Hello, I have two kids and they both wrote a letter. Can I send it in the same envelope? π
That is an excellent question! They can both write a letter, but my understanding is that if they are in the same envelope (such as when a class all writes letters), you will get one response. However, because you only have two kids, I think as long as they both write a letter and both include their mailing address in it, you might be able to get two responses. Also, I recommend writing both locations (Disneyland and Disney World) just to increase your odds of receiving letters…. if you are going to pick only one, I would go with the Florida address, since all of the postcards we have received have been postmarked from there. Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions! ~Character Diva
My daughter loves Tiana, if I write a letter to her, will we get an answer in Germany? Does anyone have experience ???
Hi Julie, that is an excellent question! I know that they do have Tiana on the princess postcard, but I’m not sure if they will send it internationally unfortunately. One option you might look into is a Disney e-card from Hallmark. Hi I am planning a very special princess appearance for my baby’s 10th birthday. She wants to meet Repunzel and I was referred here to ask about the autographed photos because I would love to give it to the princess to give to her
Hi Laquan, Disney no longer offers photographs of the characters, but they do offer postcards that are pre-signed. There is a princess one that has Rapunzel’s signature on it (along with Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, and Tiana… you can see pictures of it in the article), however the back of that postcard is signed by “Cinderella and Her Royal Friends”, not Rapunzel, so I don’t know if that will make a difference or not. Also, I’m a little confused… Are you planning a trip to Disneyland or Disney World soon where you are able to get a signature? If you’re looking for a fun alternative for Rapunzel to sign on vacation, you may want to read Soarin’ Diva’s review here… http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2016/03/16/may-i-have-your-autograph-please/ Let us know if you have any more questions! I wrote in and I received a postcard from the Fab 5! By the way, I’m from Singapore so yes, they do send internationally. Though the wait is much longer – about 8 weeks?
That’s fabulous Reb! Thanks for sharing! You’re the first one I’ve heard who has received one internationally, so I’m glad to know it works. Thanks for the tip and I’m glad you were able to get a postcard! Best wishes! ~Character Diva
I wrote to Disney World and Disneyland to celebrate our adoption. I sent letter on May 20th and still haven’t received anything (June 26 today). Do you think they are running behind or that we won’t be getting them? We wrote to Mickey & Minnie and Snow White.
Hi Sara, It could still be a couple more weeks unfortunately (Usually the wait is about 6-8 weeks). I’d probably allow until the end of July. Hopefully you will get your postcards soon! And congratulations on your adoption, that is such wonderful news!!! We are so happy for your family. Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Can i send a letter to Peter Pan and have him send me a picture?
Hi Bella, You can attempt to write Peter Pan, but as far as I know, there isn’t a postcard for him at this time. If you do get one, please let us know so we can share it with our readers! My guess is that if you wrote Peter Pan, you would get a Mickey and Pals postcard. But there’s always hope! Good luck and best wishes! ~Character Diva
Hi i was looking for a frozen autographs for my kids do they have those?
Hi Rachael, That is a great question! I haven’t seen any (when we tried it a couple years ago, we received a Cinderella and her Royal Friends postcard), but they may might have updated it since then. I’m guessing you’ll receive the Cinderella card if you try writing to Anna or Elsa, or maybe the Mickey and Friends if you write to Kristoff, Olaf, or Sven. If you do decide to try it and receive one, please let us know and send us a picture. We’d love to see it! Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Do you have to request the postcard or picture? My daughter wrote out a letter to Cinderella, but did not ask for a card or picture, just told her about herself. Will she still get something? Or does she have to request it? She is only 6 and just learning to write, I would hate to make her re-write her letter if she does not need to. It took her a hour to write it and said how tired she was when she was done.
Great question! Your daughter should still receive a postcard from Cinderella and her royal friends that is signed by Cinderella on the back, and has Cinderella and most of the princesses on the front. π (You can see pictures of the postcards in the article.) Basically, as long as your daughter’s name and mailing address are clearly written in the letter (and you may even want to write it yourself just to make sure its legible), you should be fine. π My daughter is also six and learning to write, so I understand how time consuming it can be to write it yourself. I hope your daughter enjoys her postcard (Disney quit sending pictures several years ago). Best wishes and let us know if you have any other questions! ~Character Diva
If I send a letter to Peter pan, will he respond?
Hi Arianna! That is a great question. I haven’t seen a postcard from Peter Pan before, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. I’m guessing however you would receive a postcard of the “Fab Five” with their autographs on front and then the back would be signed, “From Mickey and Pals”. If you do decide to write him and get a response (or a different postcard), we’d love to see it! We hope that helps! Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Can I receive a letter in Europe?
Hi Liza, That’s a great question. I believe someone mentioned in the comments that they had received one internationally, but I don’t officially know. It doesn’t mean they don’t, but I’m assuming if they do, it requires extra time to arrive. I’m guessing your best bet would to send someone an e-card. You can find out more information on Hallmark’s Disney e-card program here: http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2017/01/14/how-to-receive-disney-e-cards-of-some-of-your-favorite-characters/ Hope that helps and best of luck! ~Character Diva
will my daughter get a reponse if we write to elsa and olaf?
Hi Sami, It has been a couple of years since we last attempted to write Frozen characters. When we did, we received the generic princess card shown in the article. I’m assuming if you wrote Olaf, you would receive the Mickey and Friends one. Like I said, it’s been a couple of years, so they might have updated them due to their popularity, but I have yet to see one. If you do receive one, please share a picture with us and tell us about it so we can share the information with our other readers. If you want something specifically with a Frozen character on it, you may want to look into the Hallmark e-card option. You can find more info on that here: http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2017/01/14/how-to-receive-disney-e-cards-of-some-of-your-favorite-characters/ Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Hi Melodee, Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the site! Make sure to keep checking back for more great tips! Best wishes! ~Character Diva
I am frm India will i get d postcard frm the disney characters..
Hi Pratibha, I apologize for the delayed response, I am just now seeing this. I have heard mixed rumors about whether postcards can be received internationally. Your best bet may be to look into the Disney e-card program…. you can find more information about it here: http://www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com/2017/01/14/how-to-receive-disney-e-cards-of-some-of-your-favorite-characters/ Best of luck! ~Character Diva
This is so cool! I really want to send one to Belle! Are they still doing this?
As far as we know they are, but we have not tried it recently. Thank you!
I found this article because my daughter wrote a letter to Disney regarding Clone Wars. I’m going to suggest my kids try writing this address to get a Starwars postcard. doesn’t help with her current letter though. Mostly, she just wanted to write a story with a starwars presence in it and wanted to make sure Disney gave their consent. We had been talking about legal side of using someone else’s creation with/without their permission. apparently she decided to go all out. This might be a happy medium.
Hi April, that is a great idea. I’m not sure if Disney actually makes Star Wars postcards for this program (I have only seen the ones pictured and mentioned in the article), but it’s definitely worth a shot! I hope your daughter gets a response, and kudos to her for her passion for writing! Best of luck! ~Character Diva
Has anyone mailed Winnie the Pooh and gotten a card with Pooh on it?
Thanks so much!
Hi Maura, unfortunately I haven’t heard of anyone ever mailing Winnie the Pooh and receiving a Winnie the Pooh themed postcard, but it’s definitely worth a shot! π I’m guessing you’ll receive a Mickey and Friends card, but you never know. π If you do decide to try it, please let us know which postcard you receive! We’d love to update our readers! Best of luck! ~Character Diva
