Another perk to staying on Disney property in a Disney Resort is the ability to take advantage of extended Disney park hours, also known as Extra Magic Hours. Each day, one of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks opens one hour early or remains open up to 3 hours after regular closing time. During select times of the year, Disney Water Parks offer Extra Magic Hours as well. You can check which parks are scheduled by clicking HERE.
How It Works:
How it works is simple…visit the designated park at the designated time! When you check-in at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel you will receive a schedule showing when each park offers Extra Magic Hours so you can plan your stay accordingly. During the morning hours, all you really need to do is show your valid park ticket and Resort ID at the park turnstiles. During the evening hours, a valid theme park ticket and Resort ID are required. Each member of the your party will need to present a Resort ID to access evening hours offerings and yes, cast members WILL walk around for a good hour after the park closes to everyone else checking, so make sure that everybody has theirs, especially if your teenagers are splitting off from you for a while
It’s important to note that not all Walt Disney World attractions are available during Extra Magic Hours. Unfortunately, Extra Magic Hours schedule and available attractions during Extra Magic Hours are subject to change without notice. You can check out the schedule for Extra Magic Hours here.
If you are not staying on Disney property or don’t want to deal with the crowds that will most likely occur with Extra Magic Hours, read this tip! Either way, enjoy your vacation!
