Animal Kingdom opens at 9 AM. But there is a way to get into the park early.
Yes, that’s right. Into the park early. You can even snap some pictures in front of the Tree of Life with hardly anyone around!
So what is this secret entrance?
It’s an early reservation at Tusker House! That’s right – if you make an early reservation, you can enter the park a little before your reservation time and take some pictures.
Then go eat a great breakfast with a few fun characters! Donald’s Safari Breakfast is at Tusker House – which is a fun location! Start by getting your photo with Donald (the photographer will bring the print to your table where you can decide if you want to purchase it or not). Then – go enjoy the buffet breakfast!
The breakfast foods are the same as most locations – but there is an African flare to a few dishes. However, the juice they bring to your table is amazing! (It’s the same juice at Boma and Ohana for breakfast – one of my favorites!)
While eating, enjoy the company of Mickey, Goofy & Daisy – and there is even a chance for the kids to join the characters in a parade around the restaurant! (Note: It can take an hour for all the characters to come to your table – so take your time!) Be sure to take lots of pictures as the characters are in their safari clothes!
I love this tip! I went here with my husband a year ago and we did just this. It was awesome strolling through the empty park. Also, right as the park opened we finished our breakfast and walked right on safaris!

We’ve yet to do this breakfast. We usually do a character breakfast our last day..and usually we go to MK on our last day. (no hopper passes) But it is so so cool to get into the park early and take some photos with almost no one around!!!!
