Important pieces of paper you may need
- Cash/Credit Cards/ Picture ID’s/ Birth-certificates for kids (if flying)
- Health Insurance Card
- Emergency Contact phone numbers
- Recent photographs and descriptions of EACH of your children (if they get lost, its just smart)
- Disposable Child ID “I’m Lost” bands (I highly recommend!!!)
- Confirmation Numbers for airlines, hotels, and dining reservations
- Plane Tickets (make sure you put copies with someone else close by)
- Contact phone numbers for credit cards if you lose your wallet.
- YOUR PARK TICKETS!!!!! You’ll lose money paying at the gate. DO NOT BUY PARTIALLY USED TICKETS FROM EBAY!!! I’d suggest Undercover tourist.
*Someone should have copies of all of your information, ID cards, confirmation numbers, travelers checks, whatever.
Additional
- Cell phones and chargers (have at least more than one so if you split up you can get back together). Some people rent or borrow walkie-talkies.
- Coins for washing machine
- Band-Aid BLISTER STICKS
- Mole-skin
- Scissors
- Small sewing kit
- First Aid kit
- Gallon sized zip-lock bags (perfect for wet clothes or keeping cameras safe)
- Ponchos (1-2 per person going)
- Brightly colored ribbon (florescent orange/green, etc to wrap on the handle of your stroller. will make it SO much easier to find it)
- Pre-bought (or made) autograph books (can find them on ebay much cheaper), sharpie markers or big fat pens (characters cant hold those little skinny pens)
- Name tags?
- TINKERBELLE STUFF (or pre-bought souvineers)
- Lanyards and fast pass pouch (again ebay)
- Address book with email addresses (there are a few places around WDW you can email people pictures of yourself)
- Postcard Stamps
- Cash/Credit Card (you dont have to bring ALLLL of them, one or two will be more than fine)/ Picture ID’s/ Birth certificates if required for children. (Passports for airlines works well)
- Clorox wipes (ok, I’m SURE WDW is better about cleaning their rooms. But most places clean out the ice bucket with the same rag they clean the toilet and shower with. I’m just saying, it could do with a good wipe down regardless, you’ll just FEEL better)
- Camera, Camera Case, Camera Batteries, Camera Charger Camera _______________
- Disposable camera for EACH kid (if they lose it life goes on)
- Laptop (optional) we only bring ours to download our pictures each night. If you think you (or anyone in your party) MIGHT do some work on it, DON’T BRING IT!!!
- Plug in night-light/ sound machine. (Sometimes its loud in the room next door. A white-noise machine can help everyone sleep more soundly. Also you’re not use to the layout of the room so a night-light can help you move around without banging into everything.
- Waterproof watch
- Anti-Bacterial Gel
- Clothes Pins (to secure the things on the windows during the day so light doesnt come in)
- Something for kids to do on the trip (We pack paper bags and each hour there’s something new to eat or do in the bag)
- AA and AAA batteries
- The other goodies I suggested in THIS post

Could you tell us what time of Lanyards are best? There are so many different kinds…..ones with pouches, ones without, small, medium, or large. This will be our first Disney trip for our family ( I haven’t been in over 10 years!!) Really love your blog and suggestions!!!
Amber the best kind of lanyards are the medium lanyards with pouches
What are lanyards? Going to Disney in a few months, with my 2.5yrs old…. Great list, thanks! Let me knw!
Amber! Thanks for reading first off! In regards to lanyards. First off I think it needs to be one that fits your neck well. I know that I always have to switch out my camera straps because they bother my neck. So I’d say get one that fits your neck well. Make SURE you get one with a pouch though, and not a plastic one either, a good fabric one. I wrote a whole article on this for disney dispatch that might help. http://disneydispatch.com/content/columns/disney-divas-favorite-things/2010/03-fast-pass-pouches/
The best place I’ve found to buy them is http://www.yourwdwstore.net/Lanyards-ID-Holders_c_449.html
Best wishes!!! Disney Diva

We are about a month away from leaving and I am starting to get my packing list ready. Yipee! Now it starts to seem real!
Another tip – do not pack any new denim unless it has been washed a few times. My daughter learned that the hard way (hello! Kali River Rapids!)and had blue legs for a couple of days.
What did you mean about the strollers? Why don’t most toddlers do the rentals?
Rental strollers at WDW can be uncomfortable for most infants and small toddlers. They are hard plastic and do not recline. You can bring a reclinable umbrella stroller with you or rent one from a local rental facility in the area (there are several). Most of the rental companies will deliver the rented baby gear to your hotel room. Disney also sells a nice reclinable umbrella stroller in many of the stores at the parks for around $50.
Don’t rent a stroller bring one from home that’s what me and my wife did because it saved us money
there is only 1 thing i would change about this. almost all of us have camera phones, so before leaving your room, take a picture of your child/children. then you have the most accurate description as to what they are wearing that day.
also, if you aren’t too worried about ruining clothes, you can put your telephone number on the tag of the shirt, or order the temporary tattoos that you can have your number put on. that way if the child gets lost, they can show the cast member the number to call the parent, grandparent, etc, whomever the child is with
Thanks for all of the useful information! My husband and I leave early tomorrow (Halloween) morning for a little Disneyland getaway!
Nice and informative
I leave in couple days. So excited and glad to have come across this list. I’ve never been and I’m 33. But my kids are gonna love it too as much as me!
Is the website undercovertourist trustworthy? I just wouldn’t want to be scammed.
